True happiness for me is superficial unhappiness based on the "no pain no gain} theory (pain is growth). I think the modern man with a disposition similar to mine (some form of emo/socially conscious) needs to essentially sacrifice his free time to work for the opportunity of those to experience the aforementioned description of happiness in raum's post.

He who is given much, much is expected. That motivates me, because just being born in middle class America obligates me to try and save the world, imho...
