Jig, I'm not entirely sure I remember what they were, but I think your plot holes for TDK were debatable..! But, back on subject, I still haven't seen this, and with so many shaky reviews out, I'm not in a hurry...Everyone either loved it, or is stuck in some gear of 'meh'...Maybe I'll DL it today and finally have my own opinion...

Sure, dig it up man...They're showing it on Cable every week now, so I've seen it tons of times...But I don't remember there being any plot holes that left a stain on me...I remember you saying something about the film having gone on too long or something, but not anything major...

Let me say for the record that I never said i hated it.... I just said it had holes... (some more attractive than others)...

Questions left unanswered - SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE UNLESS YOU JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK....

1) Battles and Cover Ups
Spoiler:
In "Transformers," there was this giant battle in the middle of downtown Los Angeles -- excuse me, Mission City -- that was witnessed by thousands of people at the very least. But somehow the government was able to cover up the whole thing, and now the existence of alien robots is just an internet rumor? How did they do it? Pay off everyone who was there and quickly fix millions of dollars in damage? Also, didn't Keller (Jon Voight) go on TV and tell everyone we were being attacked by "a technological civilization far superior to our own"? How the hell did they ever spin that?
2) Tha Allspark - alpha and omega - or clap on clap off if you prefer
Spoiler:
There are two pieces of the Allspark cube left: the military has one under lock and key, and Sam discovers another. The Decepticons steal the one from the military and bring Megatron back to life. What you say? Didn't the Allspark destroy him in the first movie? But now it gives him back his life???? WTF? So the allspark is like the big light switch of mechanical life? On - off - on - off.... on
Sam knows what the shard can do - it brought his whole fucking kitchen to life.... but when he wants to bring back Optimus, he has to find the Matrix of Leadership on the other side of the globe? Why not use the other piece? Mikaela had it in her backpack the whole fucking time. He already knew what it could do...... dumb ass....
3) The military can't count
Spoiler:
When the Decepticons venture deep into the ocean to revive him, the Navy crew tracking them reads five contacts. There are actually 6 since the doctor is carried by one of them. Presumably, he is too small to make the trip on his own so he travels as a part of the others... so OK, 5 blips, I'm with you so far. When they get down there, they tear apart one of the robots for parts to rebuild Megatron. Then as they rise to the surface, the same Navy guys say they spot six contacts. The little "Doctor" robot popped out down there, but he's about a third of the size of a person. Would he have shown up on sonar? If he couldn't make the trip down.... wouldn't they have needed to bring him back up? They didn't leave him there, because he appears later..... The last time I checked, 5 - 1 + 1 = 5
4) Optical prime
Spoiler:
Speaking of the "german doctor robot"... why would he need glasses? He has little lenses that flip in front of his mechanical eyes. These fuckers pretty much make what they want to out of metal... but adjustable focus isn't one of them? Or why couldn't he just get his eyes adjusted? You'd think with all the laser guns they make, someone could perform a quick little Lasik procedure on the doc.....
5) Height Weight ratios
Spoiler:
Apparently, Transformers can look like people now. How? And how is it that even though the robo-girl (Isabel Lucas) is made of metal, she can still straddle Sam without crushing him.
6) Dirty Ho's for Dirty Work
Spoiler:
First, ask yourself, "why do the decepticons give a shit about Sam?" Answer, The symbols in his head that the shard of the Allspark gave him. But wait.... so.... are you trying to tell me that the symbols didn't come with the other shard? No, my friends, the shard is sadistic... it likes to create little decepticon bastards but give humans the key to defeat them.... WTF. So how do the Decepticons plan to get the symbols? Well, the Decepticons have very cunningly created a hot chick robot who they enrolled in the same college and put in the same astronomy class as Sam....and they made her a huge slut. The Decepticons apparently have an incredibly powerful slut-making program, because she has it down, man..... but wait.... Sam touched the shard the morning he left for college..... there was no way for the decepticons to 1) know he had a shard 2) know it would give him knowledge and 3) prepare for this in advance of it happening. So the Decepticons made a slutty robot to attend his college and enrolled her in classes and put her in on-campus housing just in case Sam ended up being important at some point in the future? It appears that the decepticons are fucking brilliant and plan for every possible eventuality or they can see into the future or they just like their new slutty robot making program.....
7) Prime Numbers
Spoiler:
The Fallen is the last of the Primes, since they all sacrificed themselves to stop him from destroying the sun. But then he says that Optimus is a descendant of the Primes. First, Transformers have kids? I've only seen them created by the allspark, giver of life to inanimate objects.... And second, how could he descend from them if they were all dead? And if the Fallen could only be destroyed by a Prime, why didn't the originals just gang up on him back in the day? And what makes Optimus so special, anyway? Megatron beat him earlier, but all it takes is a few spare parts from creaky old Jetfire for him to take out the Fallen? oooh, but maybe there was a prophecy... that we didn't hear about.... because it was unimportant....
8) Worm holes available now at the smithsonian nearest you....
Spoiler:
Sam, Mikaela, and Simmons go to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. to find Jetfire. Then they walk out the back onto a wide open field with old planes and mountains in the distance. When did the National Mall start to look so much like to Tucson, AZ. I assume the the doors to the Smithsonian are actually the doors to a worm hole, allowing you to travel great distances.... I'm guessing they could have walked back in through the doors to get to egypt....
9) Bots are People too
Spoiler:
Sam briefly dies and goes to Robot Heaven. Robot Heaven?!?! WTF????????
10) The devil is in the details....
Spoiler:
Where does Sam's bandage come from? What about his extra sock? Why does Sam's roommate not contribute anything at all? What was the Fallen doing for those thousands of years Megatron was frozen in ice? How does one satellite receive transmissions from everywhere on the planet? Why does Wheelie hump Mikaela's leg? Why do we have to see John Turturro's thong? Why are robots who join together to become Devastator also seen fighting the Army at the same time? Why does the government want only our military fighting Decepticons when our weapons seem unable to make so much as a dent on any of them? Why are they in the movie at all? Does Michael Bay have a huge erection for jets and tanks and aircraft carriers and considers giant robots only a necessary evil for the film? Why did the ancient Egyptians build a pyramid around the sun-destroying machines instead of just breaking it? Why is the Matrix of Leadership bigger in the Fallen's hand than in Sam's? Does it strike you as a lapse of Pyramid security that no one notices a gigantic Deceptibot ripping off the top of the Great Pyramid...Not anyone watching on the live PyramidCam...Not even a traffic copter? And how do Mikaela's pants stay so clean? or on..... ????? CDR
...but it wasn't bad.... I'm just saying it would have made a better rental. I'm not quite sure it was theatre worthy....

OK, st4, I just watched them both, and want to go over the points you made...

Spoilers of course...
Spoiler:
1) Battles and Cover Ups

My guess is that if you and me were downtown...And shit was blowing up left and right, there would be a good chance that we might be running and ducking and running for our lives instead of saying how cool it was...Plus, it seems that more or less, in the scene when Sam goes to his dorm room, they weren't talking about the existence, more like sightings and findings...

2) Tha Allspark - alpha and omega - or clap on clap off if you prefer

To kill Megatron, Same put the Allspark into his Spark...As Ironhide put it, 'The Cube is Raw Power,' so the Allspark is more or less, a big ass battery...Since the transformers are machines, they have some sort of power source...Usually, this is Energon, but the cube does the trick also...Put a double A battery into a toy and it works fine...Put a car battery into that same toy, and well...You get the picture...

3) The military can't count

Nope, they can't...No excuse for that one, lol...

4) Optical prime

He transformed into a microscope...

5) Height Weight ratios

Just because she's metal doesn't mean she has to crush him, does it..?

6) Dirty Ho's for Dirty Work

I think the assumption is that Sam had the symbols from having his hands on or being around the Allspark, just like his grandfather...They said in the first one that the cube had weird radiation...My guess is that while Sam was huddled up with that Allspark, and subsequently holding it when he essentially destroyed it, the energy was transformed...That's what The Fallen referenced...

7) Prime Numbers

The Allspark must be responsible for creating all of the Transformers...I don't see how if it made one prime, it couldn't make another...By descendants, they probably mean that they came online by the same method in which primes are created...Megatron was able to beat Optimus earlier because on Cybertron, before the war, the Decepticons were the soldiers...With 2 years of Decepticon ass kicking under his belt on earth, Optimus now has a swag about him that he did not have before...He and Megatron were once close, as Prime called him brother after he died...To sum it up, the Autobots were were pretty much wusses...Sacrificing themselves was a much better option than killing one of their own, and had they failed, The Fallen would have obliterated earth...Jetfire said that The Fallen was the more powerful of them, so that's probably why they did it...

8) Worm holes available now at the smithsonian nearest you...

Jetfire took them through a 'space bridge'...A robot travelling great distances through space would know how to do this, so I let that one go...I'm guessing Bay couldn't get clearance to shoot at the Smithsonian, lol...

9) Bots are People too

Welllllllllllll....Every action movie since The Matrix has has a Matrix moment, so...Yeah...But, we do have a 'spark', and judging by how keen the Autobots are to our bodily functions, it's not entirely unreasonable...I didn't like that part for the aforementioned unoriginality, not so much for the robot heaven part...

10) The devil is in the details...

Where does Sam's bandage come from?

Wondered about that myself...But it seems that he was in a real life car accident with Isabel Lucas, and his hand was badly injured...They should have found a way to write it into to the movie, but oh well...

What about his extra sock?

Did you see how fast he fucking took the sock off..? I wondered if it was even a sock...The bootleg I have isn't that clear, I'll have to check it out in the movies to see what was up with that...

Why does Sam's roommate not contribute anything at all?
He was supposed to be comedic relief I guess...I guess his whole purpose was to find The Phantom...

What was the Fallen doing for those thousands of years Megatron was frozen in ice?

He was too weak to come to earth and fight without The Matrix...Optimus would have did him in easily...

How does one satellite receive transmissions from everywhere on the planet?

The mighty soundwave was the satellite my friend...The most awesome decepticon ever...

Why does Wheelie hump Mikaela's leg?

Wouldn't you hump it..? cdr

Why do we have to see John Turturro's thong?
Always have to have a chance to puke up that theater food...

Why are robots who join together to become Devastator also seen fighting the Army at the same time?
I didn't see that, maybe after they shot him off the pyramid, but...

Why does the government want only our military fighting Decepticons when our weapons seem unable to make so much as a dent on any of them? Why are they in the movie at all?

That's not true, they know that they can hurt them with hot weapons...

Does Michael Bay have a huge erection for jets and tanks and aircraft carriers and considers giant robots only a necessary evil for the film?
Yep...We already knew that, lol...

Why did the ancient Egyptians build a pyramid around the sun-destroying machines instead of just breaking it?
Aliens built the pyramids..!

Why is the Matrix of Leadership bigger in the Fallen's hand than in Sam's?
Classic Transformer shit right there...On the cartoon, Megatron transformed into a pistol that the other Decepticons held in their hands and shot...Plus, in Sam hands, its nothing, just as when Bumblebee touched the Allspark it condensed...So, my guess is that it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for other alien objects to do the same...

Does it strike you as a lapse of Pyramid security that no one notices a gigantic Deceptibot ripping off the top of the Great Pyramid...Not anyone watching on the live PyramidCam...

Probably too busy praying...Or shitting themselves...Hahaha....
That was fun st4... :D
