Karma

A school of music that studies the rhythm of nature, a school of fashion that studies the elegance of the Universe, a school of design that studies the architecture of the ancients, a school of philosophy that studies the time-tested Truth.

AYHJA wrote:...I basically said in reference to a man that had wrongfully accused of being locked up in jail for 19 years for a crime that he didn't commit, that he must have done something, IE, put himself in a position to be accused...

Case and point being, it is VERY hard these days to be completely accused of something you didn't have anything to do with...The matter of which I am thinking about revolves around the golden rule...

You do onto others, as you would have them do onto you...You reap what you sow, etc...Nothing complex about that idea, right..?

Not wanting to sound like a racist but what about Rodney King? He was a total Scumbag and now has mucho dinero thanks to the Lawsuit. Karma or a fornicated legal system? The cops shoulda been smacked around to balance the scale. Eye for an Eye. Not the Tax payers of LA.
Or on the other Hand - Hurricane Carter spent a long long time in stir because the corrupt cops were being pressured by the DA in election mode. What did he do to deserve that fate? besides living in an area where it was SOP for the cops to roust blacks for fun.
I live in Australia and we don't have any serious crime :---) here, so I used 2 high profile items that we got in our news here.... Don't white guys commit any crime there? We never hear about it if it does - the Sole exception being Slick Willy Clinton getting his knob polished by Monica (is that a crime there? - Shit it's not a crime here!)

Oh, I won't even attempt to moonlight on the way the media portrays minorities...Rodney King got beat to sleep by some racist policemen, and you guys heard about that...I bet you didn't hear about the man that got shot 40 times for trying to reach for his wallet...

Anyway, that's another thread..!

Interesting you bring up Rodney King...Cause he definitely wasn't model citizen material...And he DEFINITELY wasn't the first person to get his ass kicked by the police...Never would have gotten that $ either, if they had not caught it on film...And I don't know about you, but...I don't know how much I'd have to be paid to take an ass whippin' like that...

Do white guys commit crimes..? Hell yeah...In the Current events thread right now, there is a thread about a modern day serial killer...The priests touching these kids...Oh, crime is a virtual spectrum over this way...And I have no explanation for it...Except...You reap what you sow...America has one of, if not the, nastiest histories in terms of the treatment of other people and races....

That too, is another thread...

Actually I think the US just has the most "Open Doors" with the whole world watching, judging and condemning all in one hit!
Other countries have massive crime Problems too, anyone remember all the South American Murders, Kidnappings, Drugs, Terrorism etc....
I still haven't seen any one in the US get a contract fulfilled on them for an "Own Goal" in a soccer game!

Not a crime here either... just not incredibly smart.

As far as white guys committing crime here in the US... just look at the Head of State and his right hand henchman. Sorry boss man, but Dubya is up to his ears in some smelly shit.

We are foiled..! You're right...Our ploy is to lure people here with all the ass, but the real catch is that we want you reading topics and responding, starting shit again...

Don't...Don't tell nobody else tho...At least it's not the other way around...So, maybe Karma is good...

Always good to revisit threads and see how one matures from one year to the next...This topic is over 4 years removed, and I think my POV has changed somewhat...

Cosmic retribution has an overly negative tone to me...And today, I am sitting here wondering if I'm even talking about the same thing...Case and point, you could be going through a really, really tough time in your life...Is that Karma paying you a visit..? Or could it be that you are meant to learn a powerful lesson, which inherently makes you a better person..? If I suffer through a personal relationship, is that punishment, or the only way I could learn what it is I was supposed to know..?

My Mom published that on her site, check the link out, read it, see what you think...

I don't have much in the way of supernatural, spiritual, or metaphysical belief, but there's a very practical side to "karma" that's got no hocus pocus to it: you become what you do. Loving people have a better time than shitty people; walking around the planet with the assumption "everyone else is a miserable shit trying to put one over on me" pretty much ensures that that's what you'll become.

I dunno if you'd call that "karma" or not, but its true in my experience.
