Samsung just recently got into the SSD game and is trying to advertise their new line of SSD drives. Just having 1 SSD drive as your system drive is really cool. Still too expensive though I think.

Fast but too expensive to justify the cost. I'll take a Samsung F1 drive at 1TB that holds leaps and bounds more data per dollar and is plenty fast. Only great advantage that SSD has is access times. Which can be moot with the fast indexed searches of Windows Vista and 7.
The real advantages of SSD are with laptops/netbooks for lack of moving parts, low heat and power draw.

Re: The Awesomeness of SSD
Well, I realistically would never probably have a complete line of SSD drives, but 2 of those in a RAID to run your OS, with a couple traditional platter drives for storage and backup sounds like the start of an amazing system...
I want to build a desktop this year, and I'm thinking about going either SSD or a couple of RAID'd Raptors up front, but we'll see...I guess it will be a performance gains vs cost contest, but I'll probably get Intel SSD's because I'm getting an Intel board and chip....

Re: The Awesomeness of SSD
Your OS is mostly run in RAM anyway unless you have some desire for faster boot times. I leave my PC on 24/7 anyway (torrent downloading and seeding) so boot times and shutdown times are negligible to me. Application load times might be faster but Windows Vista/7 uses Superfetch and prefetches most used programs into memory anyway.
SSD drives only make a huge difference for laptops where the hard drives are slow and hot.
You'd be killer with 4 1TB drives in RAID 5. Have performance, redundancy and a shit load of storage space.
