It is no surprise to me that Common's new stuff is kinda iffy....that CD packed a heater with not even every song, but every single line! Like no lines were wasted on that CD....everything was hitting. I wouldn't be surprised if dude just ran out lol.

Now days if rappers come up with a good line...they emphasis the shit out of it....have a dj play it back, write a whole song around one decent line....Common just flew by sick lines and if you aren't paying attention it can just go past you.

I've played I Used to Love H.E.R. in my car and dudes were just listening and thinking it was aight, then i was like no fuck this we're stopping the car and you need to HEAR what this dude is saying....and all teh sudden they were hearing it and found out how sick that track is. It's like...unless you're really looking for it...Common's skill can go right past you.

lines like that go right past most people who either don't know the reference or just aren't paying attention...but dude is sick with his! And I know this better than anyone cause I used to think he sucked, before I ever really gave him a good thorough listen, now I feel like a damn fool for sleepin on him.

I feel you raum, but I didn't do my picks on influence, or hell yeah, Will Smith would have been on the list...There is nobody that has his level of talent and longevity...He challened rappers who talked shit about the fact he didn't curse in his records to step up and battle him...That test went untaken...Cats see Big Will and think he all Hollywood, but he all about paper...You have to be talented to be in the game this long, he's not lucky no more...And the fact that her doesn't curse is remarkable...

I noticed nobody said LL Cool J...And that is a good thing...

Notorious B.I.G. was good, but not top 5 of all time...

For me, Lupe just hasn't put out enough material to really make his way into the discussion....not to mention no recent material. I hear he's working on a new CD that may drop soon...I think when that does, depending on the reception, he may get back in the discussion....but most people just probably have forgotten about him.

Top New Under-the-Surface and "Indie" Rappers (1999 onward)

??I'm confused. I know where to get his music if i want to find it...it still doesn't put him near the consideration of being in a best rappers of all time discussion. Or even an honorable mention. He has only been in the game since 2006.... people need longevity...it's impossible to know if he has any at this point in time.

Pioneer in terms of what?

As for Busta, I enjoy his music, I don't think he stacks up well in a Best Rapper of All Time discussion, but I do enjoy listening to him from time to time. For what it's worth, "What's It Gonna Be" is one of my favorite songs ever.
