2009 NCAA Football Pick 'Em
st4 posted the entire bowl schedule here, I'm just doing this day by day for those that want to pick the games and chat them up as the go along...I'm a college football fan, so I'll watch any game as long as Texas isn't playing on another channel, lol...

19 December 2009
New Mexico Bowl
Wyoming (6-6) vs. Fresno State (7-4)
St. Petersburg Bowl
Rutgers (8-4) vs. UCF (8-4)
------------------------------------------------
Even though I think Wyoming plays in a tougher conference, I think Fresno State is a tough out, and they can score some points...I like Fresno in that matchup, but wouldn't be shocked to see Wyoming win...
I think UCF has been a little more consistent than Rutgers this season...The time I saw Rutgers play, I thought that they looked good...The time I saw UCF play, they were getting pounded by Texas...UCF did beat Houston though, and for any team that has not been easy...I like UCF in that one...

Re: 2009 NCAA Football Pick 'Em
I tried to watch college football this year, but I failed (miserably). I probably only watched a half of only two games (so that makes 1 full game, right?).
Anyway, are you picking teams straight up, or are you following the game lines and trying to hit the spread points as they come out?
I wanted to adopt an NFL pick'em venture for us (perhaps for next season in tandem with the fantasy league), mainly because it'd be interesting to see if anyone of us knows anything about betting and spreads and such. I think if someone goes above 50%, even near 60% of them correct, they are awesome sports bettors. It'd be fun, I'll make sure of it, but if any one of us is successful enough at it, we could turn out to be degenerate Vegas sharks in the future. :P
About that "St. Petersburg Bowl" you mentioned above; I've never heard about it before, but is that game to be held in the Tampa Bay area? What else could it mean?

"pick em's" was the point of posting it.... Nice idea to put it in a thread of it's own for discussion.
Guess I'll have to start thinking about some of these match-ups.

Re: 2009 NCAA Football Pick 'Em
Just to pick them straight up, I only take what I know about the game and looking at the team pages on CNNSI to make my choices...And yes, the St. Petersburg Bowl is played in Florida, should be a great game to watch I think...The lesser bowls are a great way to get geared up for what should be a CF playoff, you would think they could have their bowls and just make it tournament style, but whatever...¡ñ±£¿®∆L Ф¶†ïς@п wrote: Anyway, are you picking teams straight up, or are you following the game lines and trying to hit the spread points as they come out?
I would, however, love to know more about spread points and things like that, I have utterly clueless about how that works...With the way you go into things, I bet it would be fun for me to learn...You should def. think about doing it, I for one, would certainly appreciate it...I need a new thing to try, my fantasy aspirations fucking stink big time...
