Rumors suggest a Microsoft-branded iPhone killer could be on the horizon.
by Chris Burke
US, February 2, 2010 - Rumors of a Zune phone have been simmering for a couple years now, and while the level of excitement for the latest iPhone-killer has been utterly overshadowed by the iPad hype machine, that doesn't mean Microsoft doesn't have something interesting up their sleeve.
According to Spanish tech site MuyComputer, and backed by Gizmodo, the Zune phone will be making it's big debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February 15 - 18.
The device is expected to weigh 2.45 ounces, pack an NVIDIA Tegra chip, and run the new Windows Mobile 7 (making its debut at the same event). Other specs include a 480 x 272 screen and an HDMI out. This could be the perfect time for Microsoft to announce a touch-screen smartphone with multiple 3G carriers that doesn't mind running Flash.
I sure hate to admit it, but I'm slowly turning into a cell phone geek...I'll be looking out for this...Don't really give a shit about the ''Zune'' aspect of it, but a M$ version of an iphone..? I'll be on time for that...
Yup, I'm waiting to see how this turns out before I totally go the smartphone route. From everything I've read on blogs n' such, this'll defecate all over rotten apple's overpriced gadget.
