Wow guys, this has been a fucking incredible month that I can't wait to be over...
Here's the thing...
I cannot boot into my Windows 7 installation for shit, for some reason, its not recognising my RAID partition...Corrupt somehow, I don't know what happened...Was fine one day, came down the next and it was in a vicious cycle of trying to to repair itself...
So, I'm running Ubuntu off a thumb drive...It, of course, does not recognise my RAID but does see both the disks in the Disk Utility...Is there a way or tool that any of you know of that I can use to try to restore my partition in Linux so that I can get some of my files off and throw this bitch out of the window...Maybe...I don't know...
I need a little light at the end of my tunnel here... :geek:

Re: My Disaster
Let me guess, you can see your files via Linux, but not cut or copy 'em?

Re: My Disaster
Were you running RAID 0? If you were running RAID 1 then you can just take the drives off of the RAID controller and view them individually.
If any links are down, please send me a PM!

Re: My Disaster
@ Jig
Nope, I can't see any of my files...The partition doesn't show up at all, but the drives do...
@ jdog
Yeah, I was running a RAID 0, should have been running a 1 but I didn't get around to it b/c I wanted to get a new external first before I reformatted...
Even more than that, my files are encrypted, though I do have my private key I think...What I'm thinking that I might do is install Windows on my external if I can, and see if I can somehow view the partition that way...

Re: My Disaster
My experience has been that if the files have been encrypted with Windows then Linux will not show them but will show the drive. Just like windows will show a Linux drive on a dual boot PC but not show the files.
Don't know how to access the files, except by what you mentioned about trying to read them with Windows.

Re: My Disaster
At the moment, my only hope seems to be trying to find a Windows 7 disc and trying to rediscover my partition...I am afraid that if I delete and then recreate the partition, I will definitely lose my files...
Man, it would be a blessing to just find a way to make it read the RAID, but nothing I've tried so far works...I ran SeaTools for DOS, it found some errors, but it said it corrected them...But, of course, that didn't do me any good anyway...I think I had a program that could do partition work outside of Windows, but I can't remember the name of it...
And I don't think GetDataBack would work if I take it out of RAID, but it may be my only hope at this point...

I feel ya, man. That's why I stay away from RAID 0. I definitely wouldn't ever store anything on a RAID 0 volume.

Re: My Disaster
You could try Gparted. Comes with some of the Linux distros. You will probably see it it Ubuntu.
The 'Live' version will is a Linux bootable CD.
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
GParted is a free partition editor for graphically managing your disk partitions.
GParted is useful for tasks such as: creating space for new operating systems, restructuring disk space to separate user and operating system data, and copying partitions to enable upgrading to a larger hard disk drive.
Your hard disk drive or USB flash drive can be subdivided into one or more partitions. GParted enables you to reorganize your disk partitions while preserving the contents of these partitions.

Re: My Disaster
First a generic note about mounting in Ubuntu a drive/partition with an OS installed:
As that OS didnt shutdown properly wont let you mount it, you'll have to force the mounting manually at your risk.
Then, as someone said you could try gparted, you might need to add Raid support drivers (a long ago it didnt have Raid support i'm 99 per cent shure now has but perhups not loaded as driver in livecd's)
How many drives did you have configured? you RAIDed by software or hardware?
I asume you have your files system encrypted not your hard drive hardware encrypted right?
