Dead Hotfile Links

found this trick to get around dead hotfile links. i don't know how long this will work and if it'll work on ALL links.

just add "new." to the hotfile link.

ex: dead link:

working link (with "new." added) :

When you try this now you get a username and password page come up. Can't download. Same as people are commenting in this thread: http://www.wjunction.com/showthread.php?t=72723&page=7

Hotfile was a great host for a short while. Now that the MAFIAA got hold of them they are dead. No one uploads to hotfile anymore.

Sadly filesonic has become popular it seems. But they are such a crap filehost.

yes. sadly the hotfile trick is dead. i even read somewhere that even if u have a username & pass, u'll still not be able to get the files.

filesonic downloads have slowed to a crawl for me. fileserve is a little better (at times.).

so, who's the next big name in filehosting ? ....mediafire? ...megaupload? or maybe .....ayhja.us ? ;)

Speaking of Filesonic, Can anyone lend a premium login for a one time only use? They don't allow free users to d/l any single file bigger than 400mb & the one I need is 540mb.

Filesonic is ridiculous. Even with premium accounts the download speed is so slow. You just can't max out your connection like hotfile used to. Also, filesonic has a habit of disconnecting your download mid way and it doesn't support continuing broken downloads (even with premium accounts).

People use it though because filesonic currently pays out well if you are an uploader. The more people download of stuff you upload, the more you get paid. So every warez site is full of filesonic links.

Mediafire and megaupload are good, but nobody uses these. Go to any forum and you pretty much cannot find links other than filesonic or fileserve.

Man, we have to figure something out, this is a huge issue. Filesonic BLOWS, and everything else in this thread is absolutely right...
