I use Jdownloader on Linux. Some things to watch out for. It does not support filebox, it will just delete the link. Sometimes it will popup a TOS box (not from them, from the site you are downloading. Sometimes it will put up a captcha, from the site, you have to answer.

Hmm, a file started immediately, can't beat that...Filesonic is slow anyway, so beware when rating for them...I had premium for them for a month and it wasn't worth it at all...I'll keep testing it when I can, hard to though, I got two failing HDD's!

Hmmm choice is limited. Almost every site I check out now predominantly uses Filesonic.

Filesonic is a mixed bag of hurt. Even with premium, some files download at 5 kb/s. Others go faster. Very frequently the file will not complete - it gets to 90+% done then just dies.

Anyway I found the answer to the above: aria2c. It is a command line download tool. You an use it to download anything. Works on Linux and Windows.

Aria2c enables you to restart downloads that fail to complete. Saves wasted bandwidth. Great tool. Give it a go!

hello, zaphodz

u got a link for that ? ;)

i also found some sites that will get the file for u and then u can download it from their servers for free. most do require u to click on an ad. i think clicking an ad is a small price to pay for their service.

here's one i've tried (and worked!) :

sadly my free 10 slots are used up and did not reset even after a few days. maybe changing the IP might get around this limitation.
