Hahaha nice one HH! I'm with you on the Last son thing Ube. That's what I liked when Byrne cleaned up supe's in the 80's and did away with Supergirl, boy, horse, dog, cat etc....but all the other Super's slowly poured back in...ah well.

Ah yes, Byrne's Marvelization of Superman. I agreed with ditching all the other Kryptonian baggage with the exception of Krypto & shitcanning Superboy & The Legion from his mythos.

Now that more covers have been released, I really dislike the shortless Supes & his Batman utility belt & armor.

Looks like they mashed up Power Girl & Supergirl

You guys gotta admit a lot of these Jim Lee redesigns look very 1993

I am also not thrilled about the new suit...When you see a reboot, It would have been cool to see something along the lines of the space age Superman from that Godfall story line a while back...

Image

Maybe not quite that, but more along the line of that's how Kryptonian's dress...The unimaginative suit is boring, and makes me unexcited to read this...I was hoping for an epic reboot...

Don't like the Byrne Superman eh Jig? Man I thought he did everything spot on in his reboot. But I agree with that Jim Lee 90's comment. Most of the new looks are all pretty shitty. I'm really thinking that they'll do this new reboot for a year to kind of Ultimatize DC and get some new readers then reintroduce the classic DC universe after that. Kind of have two lines of whatever is sellin like Marvel wit the 616 and the Ultimates. I think this way they at least get people to check out new Superman, Batman etc. cause otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered.

And yeah Supergirl and Powergirl are being merged into the same character (which they kinda were anyway) but they wrote out PG's tits.....moment of silence... :disappoint:

I liked it just fine. I just didn't like those two elements that he got rid of. As a little kid I grew up reading Superboy comics & enjoyed seeing Krypto & The Legion Of Superheroes. Everything else Byrne reworked was awesome.

I hope they do. I suspect Flashpoint will have some back door built into it so they can reverse it all if they have to.

Yeeeeeah cos the Ultimates line really worked out in the long run. I think the only reason it still exists is because Bendis' pet title is part of the continuity.

Drats! Of course this would happen when after 30 years they finally made Power Girl interesting with the Palmiotti & Gray run. This current Supergirl I never gave a shit about as I knew the original Linda Danvers version too well. She went out like a champ just like Barry did in Crisis & there was no reason to re-introduce a new one. I hate it when powerful comic deaths are cheapened.

HA! Yeah I think the Ultimates is just down to two titles now aren't they? And you got that right it's alllllll about Bendis's dreamchild. All I hear is how people love the Ultimate titles and yet no one buys them. I swear Bendis has a big circle of friends that just post shit online praising whatever he does so he can keep showing it to Fat Joey and going "SEE? They love me!"

The Supergirl thing was right on too. I hated when she came back after crisis. Just like with Barry Flash coming back recently it took away completely to maybe the two greatest deaths in comics especially in one series. Yeah I think this change to DC is going to go over as well as the Ultimates. I look forward to the shiny newness but that'll wear off quick I think.

2 or 3 yeah.

Pretty much how I see it. I think the one guy who made a splash in the universe was Mark Millar with Ultimates v1 & v2. Two great standalone epics.

I suspect the same.

God those costumes look very 1993.

Why does Supes of all people gotta have body armor lookin' gear?

Cyborg looks like Ultimate Iron Man w/out the helmet.

And what's with all the collars..

Yeah that's the first thing I noticed on the first pic of them all together...the collars. It looks good on Aquaman cause he already had it in Brightest Day but for the whole team to have them is kinda goofy. The more I see this stuff the more I think it's gonna be a one off year then back to old DC. This is kinda like when Lee did this to the Avengers and FF back in the 90's. That went well.
