Silent Treatment
Okay, this just came up because I think I just may be recieving this odd sort of torture. I was just wondering, what are the pros and cons of this? Personally, I think it gives the person time to think things through and find just the right words to explain what they're feeling. On the down side though, it leaves the other person wondering and pondering all the horrible things that could be wrong. What's the deal?????

Well, I can only say that I hate it when someone gives me the silent treatment...
just like I'm sure others hate it when I give them the silent treatment...
Sure, might be a way to think over things, but the ones getting the cold shoulder are left hanging...
So really, this is a tough subject to tackle...
hope others have better responses than mine that seems to be redundant....sorry!

Well I don't understand how you're supposed to fix things if you don't know what's broken. Am I right?

True...
thing is when someone gives you the silent treatment, it's either b/c they're upset at you, or something serious is going on that they might not wish to divulge (at least this is what I've experienced re this).
Prob is, like u've said, the one receiving the silent treatment has no idea how to handle the situation 'cause they have no idea what the fuck is going on!
Pardon my language in the presence of a lady...

Haha, no problem. Yeah, I just don't know what to do. It seems so silly but yet its such a great friend that I can't let it go and I don't wanna give up. Do you think I should just wait till they're ready to talk or should I keep trying? I don't even know if I'm getting the silent treatment, but all signs point to yes.

I can definitely say that the silent treatment....
FUCKIN' SUCKS..!!!
It is the inherent doom of any relationship...If someone can't come out and say that they have something on their minds, then it makes me uninterested to know that, once they do decide to open up, if at all...It makes me not want to care...
If you asked your friend if something was wrong, and you've called, wrote, etc, or however you guys communicate, and they haven't said anything, don't worry about it...But, when they do decide to open up, they need to be very apologetic about their actions...
All too commonly, people think that because they are going through something personal, that they can use that as an excuse to give people shit without reprocussions...
Haha, hope I helped..! I'd say ask, and then after that, forget about it..!

The worst thing is when the recievers give up. Then the person giving it really gets screwed cause their petty game lost them that friend. LETS JUST TALK!!!
