Search Engines

Which do you use the most? I've made it obvious that I don't use Google at all due to their site tracking, data harvesting and illegal policies. Been using Bing for a while now. Trying out DuckDuckGo just for a change of options.

I still use mainly Google, and sometimes Bing and Yahoo.

Really have not used DuckDuckGo much myself, but ...

Linux Mint signed a new partnership with DuckDuckGo.
The search engine features some revolutionary ideas and is now the default search engine in Linux Mint 12.
Here’s a quick introduction to DuckDuckGo, its philosophy and its features.

Bing clone? From the WikiPedia entry for DDG...
DuckDuckGo's results are a mashup of many sources, including Yahoo! Search BOSS, Wikipedia, Wolfram Alpha and its own Web crawler, the DuckDuckBot. It uses data from crowd-sourced sites, especially Wikipedia, to populate "Zero-click Info" boxes, which are red boxes containing topic summaries and related topics above results. DuckDuckGo also offers the ability to show mostly shopping sites or mostly info (non-shopping) sites via search buttons on its homepage.

DuckDuckGo positions itself as a search engine that puts privacy first and as such it does not store IP addresses, does not log user information and only uses cookies when needed. Weinberg states "By default, DuckDuckGo does not collect or share personal information. That is our privacy policy in a nutshell."
