You might be right that this will do well,Darkie. It still looks like they have a humourless wallcrawler though. Garfield seems all emo n' shit.

Not sure. I think he's more of a relaxed actor than TM. That guy couldn't drop a sarcastic line if his life depended on it. I think Garfield may be able to do it. I think they just made the trailer look all dark so people didn't confuse it with that last piece of shit Spidey movie with the dancing Toby's.Sir Jig-A-Lot wrote:You might be right that this will do well,Darkie. Except minus the dancing bit, that was marketed as emo too. You're right though, Toby is as intentionally funny as dirt.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man
So I saw it this morning. To sum it up in a nutshell: What a waste of great casting and good CGI (For the Spidey bits)
Garfield as Parker/Spidey did a bang up job. As did Emma Stone & Martin Sheen. The movie has serious plot holes/logic, bad editing (you can tell where scenes were abruptly cut), no noticeable score or anthem. The origin did not need to be retold yet again. Especially in an over-padded and bloated manner. Peter's parents have never been crucial to the mythos. This outing once again proves my theory that the farther you stray from the source material the bigger hole you dig for yourself and bore audiences. The Lizard fx look like they were done in the mid-90s and contrast badly with the Spider-Man stuff. I walked in with no expectations at all as I knew a long time ago that Sony was having this made to hang on to the character rights. I'm glad I did not pay for it (won a free pass). You guys shouldn't have to either.Spider-Man is far cry from being anything but Amazing. Wait for the DVD fellas.

Put it this way: Dude does not get into the costume until after the 1 hour mark. To Sam Raimi's credit, He at least had Toby all origined up and costumed 25min from the start. The kids/teens at my screening seemed to be bored shitless until he suited up. Even then, The Spidey moments are few and far between. I had had much more fun watching Ted.
