Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Walk in with no expectations and you'll be entertained. Like all of Nolan's Bat films, TDKR has it's share of plot holes and suffers from a bloated running time. It's predecessor still rules the roost out of the three outings. Begins would come in second and Rises at third. Avengers fans have no fear. It's still at the top of the superhero pole.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Catwoman with only a catsuit to give any indication of her alter-ego name? <Raúl Juliá impression> Of course!! (Though the trailer I just watched showed her with pointy-ish things on her head. *shrugs* I just wouldn't be surprised if the costume designer eschewed anything resembling cat ears 'cause that'd be "too obvious" or whatever.)darklighter1 wrote:Well...I guess it's to be expected that Nolan wasn't going to go the cat ears route right?
Why, then, does Batman have those pointy things on either side of his skullcap-with-mask? (Answer: Because he'd look stupid without them, as the Turkish Batman movie—1973's Yarasa Adam—showed.)
Looking forward to (read: expecting but not anticipating) the Batman reboot in half a dozen years or so.

The reboot will be within the next 2 years methinks as WB wants to fastrack a JLA flick after Avengers' success.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Well you knew this was the end of the trilogy,Ja. I'm all for a Batman reboot. A version closer to the books. One that will be able to share screen space with Superman, Flash and Wonder Woman. I've said it before and I'll say it again: this series that just wrapped were not real Batman films (arguably perhaps Begins). They just happened to be movies with Batman and radically altered versions of his rogues gallery in them. TDK was a crime film plain and simple. It was Heat remixed with capes and purple suits. TDKR was a relentless film about Terrorism and/or fucked up people with daddy issues who take it out on a whole city.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Fuck a bloated run time when I have to pay $9 for parking because my ticket validation lasts only 3 hours...
As this was for the freeskee more or less, I reckon it was worth the parking...But I wasn't that entertained by this...The second Batman movie was kick ass, and I enjoyed the first...But something...Something was missing from this one IMO...It didn't feel right...Catwoman killed, and Bane...Well shit, he just made the movie...
I think I saw Batman 3 times, and of that 3 hour fest, I wonder what the actual time was that he spent on screen...
I just can't put my finger on it, maybe its too soon, but...So far, I don't think I'll want to see it again...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
It really wasn't a Batman movie for me. The character was just a proxy for people to come see the movie IHMO. Hathaway was the best thing about the flick. She is very close to her comic incarnation. Not being a good or bad girl. I loved Cillian Murphy's cameo as Cane/Scarecrow. He cracked me up hard.
