Mercyful Fate

#21

Post by Pete »

QUOTE(Kiss It)QUOTE(timbo)Mercyful Fate, Desecration of Souls, from their 1984 album \"Don't Break the Oath\". It's great! I love metal!!!!!!

Wow!
My boyfriend got me into Mercyful Fate and now I love them!
At first looking at King Diamond (the frontman), he scared the crap outta me...but then once I started listening to some of their stuff I thought it was cool and different.

Both my bf and I try to listen to a bit of everything...
oh btw, don't know why, but I have a thing for MF's \"Is That You, Melissa\" from their 1993 \"In The Shadows\" cd.

*P.S. Yes, all that Korn, LB, etc is all repetitive crap...

That's cool there's some MF fans here!!! I got into Mercyful Fate by Metallica, I heard them goofing around on some MF songs when they were supposed to be recording their ReLoad album (this was on one of their fanclub CDs), and also proper covers on the Garage Inc. album, and truly it's the shit! I love their older albums most, Melissa & Don't Break The Oath- the guitar tone on that album is KILLER!

Yeah, King Diamond does look a little scary. But his singing cracks me up, it amuses me but I love it! I love how their songs have that real rock edge to them, the lyrics are some serious dark scary shit, but I feel so comfortable with the music I think it's okay to play at a party full of moronic bubblegum pop/boyband/hiphop/wannabe rockband mainstream listeners!

I hate all that nu-metal crapolla, sorry anyone who does, but it's blasphemy to me. Metallica, Diamondhead, Motorhead, Mercyful Fate, Discharge, The Misfits, The Ramones, Anthrax, they all ROCK!
