Re: Man Of Steel
Maybe they'll have some fun with it, I've always said I prefer the Godfall outfit for a more realistic interpretation of Kryptonian outfits, so anything short of that I just take w/a grain of salt...

The first teaser. There doesn't seem to much to it. Looks kinda bleak actually.

Re: Man Of Steel
I just don't know what to make of that...
An adult Clark Kent hitchhiking...A child wearing a cape...I see the names Nolan and Synder all over the place, and not hints of any kind of story line or action...I know its a reboot...Of a reboot...But fuck me man...How hard can it be to get the most awesome and revered superhero of all time a good movie..? As far as technology has come, all the amazing film technologies...I just want them to get this shit right man...Dive off into the comics, create a god among men, give him a hottie of Durance like features to say the least, and watch him pound the fuck out of anything...
I just don't feel good about this...I liked everything about Superman Returns except that dumb ass story arc and that not so hot Lois Lane...Giving Superman paternal issues just wasn't my cup of tea...That's another rant, but man...WTF is this shit, really...?

The reason this might suck ass: David S. Goyer (this guy has written far more stinkers than successes. Wikipedia it.)
The reason this might be awesome: Zack Snyder (This guy can take potential doo doo and turn it into gold)

Anyone seen this new more legit trailer yet? Your thoughts?!?

One thing I'm not impressed by is the recycling of the death scene score from 2000's Gladiator.
That's what happens when you tell John Williams to go fuck himself.

Re: Man Of Steel
Let me just say this...
Obviously, I'm a fan boy. But I'm definitely not alone in that. I spent a pretty penny this weekend to make sure I got the most amazing experience possible. IMAX 3D and all that. IMAX is always amazing, but if there was a TRUE 3D scene in this movie, I missed it...Had it to do over, if I could have saved a few bucks to just go IMAX, I would have. But the 3D didn't hurt it...
Now, to the movie. I won't do a huge spill here. I don't want to drop spoilers. But. The first thing that came to my mind when I left and trying to reflect. Was that it was HUGE. I mean, it was a huge movie. The scope of the film was epic. I can't remember ever seeing a movie that was this huge. I mean, I remember some hugely hyped movies. But this shit is just...It was incredible...The visuals, the story, and most importantly, the character. HUGE.
Anyone who hasn't see this, do yourself a favor and get an IMAX seat, skip the 3D if possible, but it was certainly not a deal breaker.

Re: Man Of Steel
I went into my second viewing telling myself it was just A VERSION of the character & the mythology & liked it a bit more. Still have my gripes with the way certain things were written (It's that hack Goyer. whatdyaexpect?!). I dig the entire cast, though quite a lot of them were used a plot devices (Lois) or underwritten (Martha Kent). Goyer really does not know how to write female characters. Think back to Nolan's "Batman" & the Blade movies. I have quite a few issues with the flick though, all to do with the writing. Snyder still knows how to craft/direct action scenes like nobody else this side of early James Cameron as far as Hollywood directors go. You can tell the final scene was tacked on (& the reason the flick was delayed more than 6 months) though. Spoilers to follow.
