Bootable CD - how can I do this?
So here is what I want to do. I want to create a bootable CD to boot into DOS.
There is no problem there, I can find a DOS ISO and create a CD that will boot into DOS.
But what I want to do is to add my own program to the image and modify the autoexec.bat file to run that program. The problem lies in that I don't know how to extract the ISO, add the program and modify the autoexec.bat file and recreate the ISO so that it is still bootable.

Holy shit 5829, are you trying to show us up..? :D
I don't want to under think this thing, but here's what I got so far, don't be mad if its insulting, it's late/early and I'm on fumes and day old coffee...
1. If you have a bootable ISO to start, great. For lack of a better word, an ISO is just a disc archive. So, if for example you already have a disc, use your favorite ISO program to make an ISO on your drive. I use the latest version of Daemon Tools.
2. Use an archiving program to alter the ISO. WinRAR or 7zip are the two I use, both of them will allow you to open and view ISO files as archives. So, you could in essence, extract your bootable ISO to a folder on your C: Drive. Put into it the files you want to add to the disc. And then use IMG Burn to create an entirely new ISO...
That said, I suppose you could use IMGBurn to do it all, but I like the archive method, as there is little chance to miss system files...
Shit, I hope that makes sense...I'll be checking the topic if not... :D

Re: Bootable CD - how can I do this?
That is what I did before I posted here.
Used 7-zip to extract the iso. Made the changes. Used imgburn to recreate the iso. Burned it to a cd using imgburn. But it will not boot. Tried a few different ways but no luck. If I burn the dos iso without any changes to disk it works.

Re: Bootable CD - how can I do this?
What boot ISO are you using? That's why I wondered about that, I know boot discs can be tricky. One wrong file and it will not boot, no matter what. I seem to remember though, when burning a CD, there being a box to check if the disc was to be bootable or not. I can't verify though, if it was IMG burn or not. I think that was back in the day when I used to use Nero, when it was still good...

Pulled up a ton of "buy our custom boot disk!" type results but these might be relevant:
