I'm not a big fan of benchmarks...Which is why I'm glad that forums exist...I don't know anybody near me that could answer this question...So, I hope you guys can help me out here...
I currently have and AMD Barton OC'd to 3200+ specs on a marvelous Gigabyte Mobo...With that money from the Stern show burning my pockets, I'm definitely going to upgrade my HDD's again, but I'm also thinking about adding a lot of RAM, a new mobo, and a chip to boot...
Here's what I want to know...Is there anybody here that has, or has seen some of the higher end CPU's in action..? I'm not talking about Google, or heard, I'm talking, "My homeboy up the road got a Prescott Extreme, and that bitch eats through the AMD FX," kinda thing...
Here's the chips I'm looking at...
1. Intel Pentium 4/ 3.4 GHz Extreme Edition 800MHz FSB, 2MB L3 Cache, Hyper Threading
2. Intel Pentium 4/ 3.2C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading Technology
3. AMD Socket 939 Athlon 64 FX-55, 1MB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor
4. AMD Athlon 64 3700+, Socket 754, 1MB L2 Cache 64-bit Processor
Or similar...What I have now is cool, I reckon, but I'm an admitted hardware whore, and I feel the need to buy new stuff...What's another PC relegated to home file server duties anyway.. /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" />
The doors of the church are open...
