Is it breaking down?
Been pondering things that have happend over the last few months: Hurricanes, Tsunamis', Mudslides, Earthquakes.......
Do you ever get the feeling that the earth is coming across like a 1971 Buick LeSabre that hasn't had an oil change in months, or is it simply natural population control? :-k

The hurricanes, mudslides, earthquakes are all things that happen every year; some years more than others, but this year has been worse. The tsunami isn't an unknown event, but they are rarer than the others due to the fact that other factors need to fall in place for them to occur.
It HAS been a very tough year with all the natural disasters. We, of course do have some responsibility for what's been happening. Our overuse and over-dependence on fossil fuels has created climate changes that we won't feel the full impact from for years to come. In other words, if we don't start making some drastic changes in our lifestyle, we'll only see worse in the future.

I know most of you don't agree with this but I believe that it is true.
Everything that is happening is proving that the LORD is coming back. It was all predicted in the Bible and with more and more natural disasters like this.
The world is always breaking down. It's the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

There have always been natural disasters and there have always been those who point to them and say the End Time is near. Jesus' disciples all believed that his second coming would be within their lifetimes.
What sets the events of the present apart from those in the past are that we have instantaneous communication all over the world. As soon as something catastrophic happens, it's on the news as a breaking report. We therefore hear about disasters in places we wouldn't have prior to radio and TV.

Pollution etc. has certainly accelerated climate changes, but they haven't made them worse. Of course pollution is BAD and should be minimised. But they haven't caused irreversable climate change, just made it happen quicker.
500 million years ago the weather was pretty similar to how it is right now.
300 million years ago the world was so warm there was NO ICE. Shallow seas covered large parts of the continents, forming areas that later would be oil reservoirs, before that lush vegetation grew and settled to make the coal that we burn and fill the atmosphere with carbon dioxide. So it was HOTTER. We aren't getting too hot, more likely warming back up, but possibly rising before a plummet to another cold Ice Age.
Rising sea levels are not due to over-use of resources and pollution. Over 135,000 years ago (or a bit more) the sea was ALOT higher. Just go see the cliffs in the Bahamas and Bermuda. The sea level has flip-flopped back and forth like a yoyo, in a total absence of pollution.

Aight...I already spoke the truth so why are you still debating it?

That is what YOU believe is true. I don't believe it, so I'm still debating it.
