Physical Fitness
Some Bible verses emphasize treating you body as a temple for God.
Others say our physical body is useless.
What is right?

Dang, this is tough. I think that God does care about our personal fitness because He wants us to work hard at everything we do. That means making sure you're in good health
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

During our time here on earth in the physical realm, we should treat our bodies as God's Temple. However, ultimately, our physical must become spiritual/ethereal. Our bodies are useful as a means for us to develop our spirit/soul. Jesus tells us to love others as we love ourselves. Therefore, we must first love ourselves. We must recognize that God's Spirit dwells in us and it is our responsibility to develop a communication between our 'self' and God's Spirit.

agreed..
I notice the more I seek God, the more I desire to become as mentally, physically, and emotionally strong as possible..but i dont really know why..why the physical would matter so much...it just seems to go hand in hand with pursuing God..but how many of us actually work out to improve our image for God..thats the biggie lol

I think that God just wants us to take care of our bodies because that can be honoring to him. I agree with you Deeje, that the more you seek God, the more you will want to look good. It makes sense.

I think it means more or less that you should further follow the example of Christ...I don't know how many of you saw The Passion, but either way, you know they all but murdered Jeshua...He was made to carry his cross on his back, after being ripped and beaten...There was a character who was ordered to help him carry his cross, a rather large man in the movie, and the minute the cross was put to his shoulders, he fell to his knees...I think that was a subtle way to say that Jeshua spent a bit of time on tehBowFlex, yeah..?
Also, another one of my things that I like to do is follow the universal model...You don't buy a piece of fruit that has a bruised skin, you don't buy a new car that has dents in the door, etc...As much bullshit as people like to talk, we like the outside of things to be as nice as the things on the inside...
Learning more I think, should want you to seek Godliness...I don't know about you guys, but I don't imagine God has health issues...CDR...
