All Im sayin' is, in the sense of the word "care" I was referring to..
I meant stuff like..AYHJA, I know this site means a lot to you, you care about it, so I am guessing you probably spend a lot of time thinking about it..
When you really care/love another person, you cant stop thinking about them..
Your mind gets occupied with what is most important to it..

Caring and thinking...Not the same...I'm sure you can think of an instance where this is true...
But what I am stuck on, is that you want to give the same or different values to something that can't be measured...
You can't measure the loss of life on that scale, not many of us can... 150,000 people..? That's like everybody you've ever met long enough to remember their names, dropping dead at the same time...That's like your whole state dying...Wow man...
I care and love my little boy more than I love myself, but that don't mean I want to spend every breaking minute with him..That I don't need a bit of a break every now and then...That I spend all day thinking about him...Life can't work like that...
There is one person that I can think of that was able to put the pain of the world on his shoulders and try to hold it down...He had the capacity to do that, and to know each of us in an intimate and relative sense...
We are imperfect, and don't have that ability...But that doesn't mean that we can't empathize with someone waking up, and not having their loved ones do the same...
You can't compare that to a homeless person...You don't have a homeless relative, do you..? But you do have good friends, and good family...You can imagine what it is like to loose them...Somebody in that storm is going through that...That is what you mourn and celebrate...You have to be able to see that phoenix when she rises from the ashes, and if you can't, you better try harder...
So, you are right, the tsunami's didn't affect me on a personal level, but they affected somebody...And in a spiritual sense, that is an immense burden, the ferryman of the river Styx was booked...

Thats what I have been tryna say..
You simply cant care as much as someone who was affected on a personal level. You can care as much as humanly possible, but it simply is not the same as someone who was affected directly. Yall was talkin' reckless whether ya realize it or not..
I know that is bold, but I believe it to be true..we can care as much as possible, but since it happened so far away and barely affected us directly, that care is not that much..Do everything to help that you can, its all good..but just be aware of this truth..

My thing is...What is the point of saying, "You don't care the same like you would if it was somebody you were close to..."..? That's what was killing me...That's like telling Michael Jordan in 2000 that he wasn't the same player that he was when he was 4 years into his career w/t Bulls...I mean, that's true, but he is STILL Michael Jordan...
Being that we are all adults, it need not be said that we don't care on a personal level...How could we..? I mean, isn't it obvious..? And further more, what does that give or take away from the fact that those people are dead..? I can't tell you how to feel, but are you just supposed to shrug your shoulders and keep strolling..? Is that what you would want for yourself, should you have been in that position..? People care as much as they can, you can't knock them for that...I wasn't talkin' reckless, I was talkin' about how I felt...I felt sad seeing people laying dead, crushed and drowned...Who can question that...?
There is no tomorrow for them...When you have lived a life, and you have built something to loose, you understand this...Shit like this hits home...Someone who was affected directly may not necessarily care more than anybody else...Now that is a reckless statement...
But you have GOT to find another way to express yourself and what you mean...

When I see homeless people, I give them and food...When somebody asks me for help, whether I know them or not, I give it when I can, and I put that on my ALL...I don't need to see a tragedy to realize that I'm blessed, you can't say people don't care, cause I DO...If my neighbor is not eating, then it won't be long before I am not...
When you think about how small this world is, you'll see what I mean by that...
