Dang....I'm really lost with this thread. I think I'm just gonna sit back and read it and not respond. I'm way behind both of you in this....
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

LoL...
RAUM has refused to even respond to this (he says go to www.timecube.com , LOL), so let me try to help you out a bit...
First off, lets Define TIME...
It's a tool...Time is a tool, so it is definitely in our minds...When we observe progression, we call it time to measure it, and to relate it...
If you don't want to discuss the definition of time, I'd say that the question needs to be reworded..?

it's been scientifically proved that our perception of time is faster when we are having fun.
..and slower in times of boredom and shock or emergencies. think about, in an emergency our sense of time is slower, therefore we can react to it better (think car accidents).

The hole thread is not valid.
I think what Kant expressed was not in a scientific-line but as a philosophical analysis.
Scientifical speaking you have no choice but to accept that time does exists, and infinite is present in universe for space and time, and adding the relativity thing times bends so time might not be linear but it exists.
Compared to 'our' time, e.g. the time it took me to write these lines it's obvious we tend to think that time is just a mind perception, but so is my hand 'cause i see it, i feel it but it does exists or it just a perception? so it's pointless to view the topic from a burguese way.
I know that those schoolar question of what's before than before comes out very easily but those mysteries are to be solved yet and none of us are even close to do it despite of all the religion concept we may use.

Yea, it is our perception of time that changes, but that doesn't mean that time is only in our minds. Time doesn't actually move faster or slower for one person while it's different for another.
How is it scientifically proven?

Before we go off on other tangents, I think that it is safe to say that time is not in our minds...Right..??

QUOTE(DeEje)QUOTE(AYHJA)^^
Like I said, this isn't that hard...
\"Time\" may not exist...But...Progression...In any direction...would, right..?
Change is the only constant in the universe...
Whether you want to call it time or not, I can't go there...Are you saying that just because the universe stops for you (it won't) that \"time\" would not have passed..? Â
Like I said, time is a tool...And all tools have limits...There are numbers that can't be comprehended by a \"normal\" human mind, and progression extends beyond that...
Not to knock your hustle DeEje, but I have found that it is good to read new things, but that you build your own conclusions...RAUM is one of my best friends and someone I consider a teacher, but I take even the things he says with a chaser...You made an interesting point in another thread, by saying, \"I'm the realest person I know...\"
And that's what's up...But, have your foundation and build on it, not vice versa...
Not quite..(as in getting what I am trying to say..)
What a temporal vacuum is, is where all change ceases..
If change stops, existance may not, but 'time' cannot be measure for how long it stopped for (my reference to a 5 milly year one was for example purposes..). So time becomes undefined as change ceases. I believe this is what was up before Creation happened..then change began, thus sparking progression with it (same thing), but i do not think \"time\". I think we use time to measure progression. Progression, change, whatever is what we measure time by as well. If all change stopped, we wouldnt know it, so, in essence, time is dependant on our minds. For time is just a measuring system, and without change, time becomes useless.
I am afraid I am not making this clear enough, I think ima post up the clip from the book..
And yea, Iont have prollems making conclusions usually, but this one, is so straightforward and makes sense to me. Sort of. It makes more sense than saying time is independant of our minds, for our minds hold the key (noticing change) that allow \"time\" to have meaning..

All over the place...
^^
I don't understand any of that...
Here is one point where I'm running into issue with what you're saying, mainly your use of the word time...When I hear time, and especially in this instance, I think ruler...tachometer...
It is a gauge of something that would happen regardless...
We don't use time to measure progression (you can't assign something finite to an infinite value) it is more like marking it...Understand that movement and change metriculate on levels unseen...Change will never cease...
QUOTE(DeEje)I think we use time to measure progression. Progression, change, whatever is what we measure time by as well.
??????
Whoa Kid, you are way, way tangled up in your words...Lets make truths to help...
1. Time is a human construct used to mark points in PROGRESSION...They are not the same thing...
2. Progression ie Change, is constant, and this is true on all levels...
Agree or disagree..?

Sorry about the posting problems..
I cant delete that earlier one for some reason..
Anyway, regardless of if time is of our minds or not, do yall agree it is meaningless outside of our minds?
