Help Me Out DeEje...

#1

Post by AYHJA »

Since I am struggling to understand your logic in many instances these days, I thought you may be interested to bless me with some and help me out...I noticed that for a couple of weeks now, you have been sporting the following words in your signature:

Niggas with knowledge is more dangerous than niggas with guns/
They make the guns easy ta get, n try ta keep niggas dumb//
-Talib Kweli

Can you please tell me what that verse means..?

Most young kids these days think having a gun makes you hard, and no one goes to school to learn when they can join a gang. It's just speaking the truth about life, you can take the easy route, buy a gun and gangbang for a while, but sooner or later you're gonna have to learn something or you're done.

For some odd reason I think you knew that already though.

Actually, I was more interested to know...Why DeEje feels the need to have it in his signature, as there is no way possible that he can fully understand it, or experience it...

Does that mean he can't relate to it..? Of course not...But what is the point in having it there..? I don't want him thinking I'm picking on him (I'm not), but...I find that odd...Very...

To me, that is the equivalent to me walking through South Central Los Angeles with a red or blue T-Shirt on, looking crazy as hell when I get beat up...

Yeah, I know a little bit about gang bangin'...And I can relate to it...But, I am not a Gang Banger...Heard about it on a few songs...But I've never lived it...

This is a very loose analogy, but lets say I put as my signature, "LA Crips are the craaaaziest..." And it is seen by a real member of an LA Crip gang..?

Bottom line, IMO, is that if he knows what it really stands for, then by all means, keep sportin' it around...But in many instances, it is dumb, and mad disrespectful...A signature is something that you should want to be identified by, and nothing about that can serve as identification, lest I be shown otherwise...

So, if you will, explain...

Man I cant do any fucking thing right lmao

It is not that hard..

Knowledge is looked down upon in the "ghettos" and it is something that needs to change drastically. What I feel Kweli is saying, is that if you want power, you should look for it in your mind, not by the ice, hoes, and guns you carry around..

Second part, (have you heard the song?), the mood of the song is one of spitting truth hard, a very deep song as well. He uses the word 'dangerous' brilliantly, because many people get knowledge for the wrong reason. They are looking for fame and fortune, rather than justice and truth.

In the same way I wouldnt go around telling everyone where I get my shoes for so cheap, yet sell them to anyone who will pay me, is an example of the people in the second line. Now, this relates completely differently ethically, as shoes arent the same as 9 millys, but the same thing applies. I hold more, uhh, power, if you will, then someone who has bought six pairs from me and looks all gangsta..If it were your choice, would you invest and learn how to sell the kicks, or just buy them to look cool? Answer is obvious, yet when you relate it to guns, etc. many people would choose the AK's. Why? They perception of the truth has been distorted, and Kweli is trying to change it back. Yet with his truthful sarcastic irony he also says indirectly how it is sad that the ones who do pursue knowledge, use it to get fame and fortune usually, and just make conditions with the guns worse by manipulating people, selling to them, etc.

The overall message that he is trying to show is that, take a huge dealer's mind and turn it for pursuing truth and honesty, and he can change the world more than anyone thought..for he already has the passion, focus, determination and will to succeed, yet just has chosen the wrong thing to succeed in..

Its a true statement man..a statement that needs to be heard..thats why i have it there

good explination deeje
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard
