You are not a nigger, nigga, or any form of such, and will never be one...You will never know what it is like, and can never begin to comprehend the total meaning of that word...You will never understand what it is like to even see the shit, let alone hear it, when written by someone that can't understand it...Do a little psycho research and tell me what happens when a race of people has that word beaten into them over a couple hundred years to the point that they think that's what they are, and say it themselves...I can't even explain that, I do it myself....

Because she came home from her job one day and found her 15 year old son hanging from a tree in her front yard...In a town that has about 1,200 people, they never made an arrest or charged anyone with the crime...She had to come home every fucking day, and be reminded that her son was hanging from a tree just days before...The local news caught wind of it, and soon, the woman lost HER job because of the negative publicity about the incident...
This is a poor woman, about 35-40 years of age, sitting in our office crying her eyes out, because she had nowhere to turn to...

^^^ I couldn't put things any better, but I'll put my middle aged, middle class, white, grew up in the South in the 60s point of view. My father was (and still is) a racist, I've been around racists most of my life. I can't exactly say when or where my epiphany came, but thank God it did. It hurts me to hear "that word" now, even coming from some of my black friends. It is a word filled with hate and ignorance and can NEVER be anything else; there's too much history behind it. I know it's hard to be young in today's world - I've got two teenagers trying to make a go of it in South Carolina. But when I see kids trying to be as "ghetto" as they can be with absolutely NO idea of what it really means, it tears me up.
Deeje, I don't know what I can say to you to help you understand that some of the views you've posted are pretty damned disturbing from a variety of points of view. I really don't.
