Tyler, if you're asking about MV, no...they are FAR from Portishead-ish.

If you're interested in Portishead-ish stuff, peep that Baxter joint I uploaded. Mars Volta are more on the harder side, long complex jam tip. you should be able to get a good idea of their sound from their website...I recommend "inertiatic ESP", or pretty much anything from their new one.
