This year is going to be awesome. I'm gonna lose sleep over this year I think....

Not if they drag out the first round like they did last year.....the first round of the NBA playoffs lasted longer than the summer olympics..

That's true. I lost track of rounds last year. Hopefully it won't be that bad this year.

Well, now they're in the finals... ripe to make my preseason pick correct.
I watched every second of game 6 and 7. Here are my observations.
HEAT:
Starting lineup:
First and foremost, Dwayne Wade is going to be INCREDIBLE. I loved his style in Marquette, and now he's really impressed everyone in only his second year. His composure, although he lost it slighty in the first half of game 7. His 3rd quarter performance was spectactular, and thats coming from me, who HATED when he was doing it against my pistons, but even I can admire his style. He is a rare breed of humble young players. If every kid drafted acted more like him, there would be no question of an age limit.
Udinos Haslem: Even I said at the beginning of the year"who the fuck is that?" when he was introduced in the starting lineup, because Odom had been there in his place for a while, but this guy came to play. He still seems afraid to shoot the ball, but that'll go away now that he has more of a set role in the team. He hit a lot of clutch shots and comes up with tons of rebounds, this guy is going to be a good-great role player. He's not a superstar, but he fits in well with this heat team.
Eddie Jones: He's losing it. He used to be really great, now age is taking over, and theres nothing wrong with that, he's taken the back seat to Wade, which has only helped him, because now hes winning games and still shooting 3's.
Damon Jones: Well, I know he's been pretty great this year for them when he surpirsed them playing point to give Wade a release to his primary position, but his complete collaspe in the last 4 minutes of game 7 is the key factor to why they lost the game. I think he'll be better next year, but this year wasn't his year in the playoffs.
The Diesel: Get off your fat ass and fucking condition!!!! You're known as the most dominate player, and yet you are nonexisitent in the 2nd and 3rd quarter of game 7 because you haven't conditioned properly. When is he going to realize he has his game down PAT, he needs to work on his freethrows and his conditioning and he'll be more unstopable then he already is. Being a huge Lakers fan for a while, I used to hate when he missed them FT's, but after watching him on many occasions, I'll have to agree that he does "make them when it counts" but the fact of the matter is, in game 7 he had a superstar first quarter, and a pretty good 4th, would have been better if he got the ball more, but they had to rest him the rest of the time because he got too tired. If things dont change they need to call him "The most dominate player for 2 quarters"
6th man(men):
Keyon Dooling: This guy is a typical streetballer, IMO. He is quick, can get to the basket in a flash and slam it home, but he has a real lack of control over his game. He is often wild and uncontrolled and throws up bad shots or throws bad passes. I really don't think he'll be much for this team, maybe if he goes to Utah or something like that he'll have a much higher impact because a lot of teams needs a firecracker like him.
Rasual Butler: This guy can flat out shoot, it's lack of experience right now that's been his problem, but he'll get over that eventually and maybe once Eddie Jones leaves he'll get a starting spot and really do good things for the Heat
Recap:
As we all know, it is the inexperience at the primator and the injuries that killed this young team. Wade and D. Jones turned the ball over just too many times in the 4th, that is why they lost. Assuming every team stays the same, aka no blockbuster trades, huge free agent signings or injuries, the Heat will probably win the championship next year.
Pistons :
Starting Lineup:
Billups: He is just too strong for many pointguards in the league, as shown when he just whooped D. Jones in the post back-to-back.... no pun intended..He kept getting easy points because of it. He still has a bad shot selection, and should pass more than he shoots, but when he shoots, he makes it count. Great 3 point shooter and one of the best FT shooters in the league, which was on display when he hit 4 CLUTCH ones at the end of game 7.
Rip: Probably my favorite player now. I don't think he missed an inbound shot...the whole series. He shoots lights out, is soooooo quick, and brings it on defense as well. I really enjoy watching him play. He's smooth and gets the job done, often.
Prince: This guy has turned into one of the hardest guys to score on in the league. With his incredible wingspan, height, and quickness he can guard the 1-4 and Big Ben can cover the 5. His offensive display was poor, it takes him a while to get it going, he misses his first like 5 or so shots, but then he starts getting into gear and knocking down threes. I think he is possibly the ugliest player in all of the NBA, looks like Yoshi's brother, but his defense is great.
R. Wallace: This is the offensive nightmare. He is 7 feet tall, can shoot the 3, and shoots the ball above his head. He never gets blocked, and once he gets in a rhythem, he can go for 40-50 a night, assuming he gets the ball whenever he wants. He is a good rebounder and good help defender, but his skills are still mainly offensive. He is like Dirk, except he doesn't draw triple teams every night, so he is more free to do better things. He fades away too often, which leads to a lot of easy shots being missed. He is very emotional, which is great in the locker room, the team LOVES him, but it can get him into trouble with all the techinicals. I'd personally pick him up for my team any day. He made a lot of great shots in game 7, and really brought it to the table and was the key reason the game was in the Pistons favor the whole time.
Big Ben: The single most intimidating player in basketball. He appears as though if you try to go up over him, he'll not only block you, but he'll eat your family as well. He is the best help defender in the league, and a pretty good post defender as well. He can dunk the ball when given a good pass, and can even step out and shoot the ball once and a while, but being a compliment to R. Wallace, his skills are much more defensive. He didn't do very good against Shaq, but he didn't last year either. Shaq almost NEVER gets single coverage, but Big Ben does it better than anyone.
6th man (men):
Lindsey Hunter: Incredible on-ball defender. He did great against Wade in all quarters except the 3rd, and he is a pretty good 3 ball shooter. Unfournately he got caught with the ball deep in the shot clock and was forced to throw up some bad shots, but he is a very solid backup to Billups.
McDyess: This poor guy had superstar potienal before he went down with countless knee injuries. He's back and playing with the Pistons because of his and Billups great friendship. They played together eariler and McDyess helped Billups out when he was bouncing around teams in first couple years, so now that McDyess is playing well, it's no surprise to see Billups want to help him out. I can't recall him missing one of those fadeaways from the side, he's another solid backup. He played terrible against Shaq, but most people do. He ran the court well, made some shots and got some rebounds. They couldnt ask much more of him.
Recap: They won because they've played together before, they have the experience, and they could close the game out, whereas the Heat crumbled. Their win has a lot to do with Wade and Shaq not being 100%, but also because they finally played their style of basketball which is a stop them on defense then run them down on offense. This has been my pick to win it all before the season started, and they haven't given me reason to disregard that pick yet.

Well Detroit won which really suprised me. So now it's SA vs Detroit. I'm picking San Antonio to win. They have a great team and are built for the postseason. Spurs in 5.
