Chicken or the Egg?

A school of music that studies the rhythm of nature, a school of fashion that studies the elegance of the Universe, a school of design that studies the architecture of the ancients, a school of philosophy that studies the time-tested Truth.

I'm going to go w/the chicken...My reason is simple...I believe the first man was indeed an adult, I don't think that it was a fetus at all...It just seems more feasible to me, haha, and I have NO idea why, the the first of any species is usually the procreator of it...

If you go theologically, the answer must be "the chicken" as in Genesis it states that all the fowl were created in a single day. No time for hatching there!

Speaking scientifically, you would pretty much have to go with "the egg", as evolution occurs on the molecular level affecting each new genetic batch of offspring. Therefore, at some point, the chicken precursor had to have hatched a new species, the chicken.

Philosophically speaking... I don't really give a rat's behind which came first.

Personally speaking... The egg came first since I was eating eggs before I ate chicken. LOL

Just my warped perspective on things.

I agree with what AYHJA said. Man was created as an adult. So...the chicken came first

duh, the egg.

i really can't stand this question, it belittles the egg. more than chickens have eggs, and chickens aren't that old in the scope of the dinosaurs that laid eggs before chickens even existed.

we have found evidence of eggs that are older than any lifeform currently extant. egg. period.

The only way chicken comes before egg is alphabetically.

Well...

More than just the chicken and the egg, I look at it as a creationist or evolutionist standpoint...I believe in creation, and I always will...I see no overwhelming evidence for either, unless you count seeing Shauna Danielle fully naked as one of them...At that point, creation becomes painfully obvious...

I think if you believe in the egg first, you are embracing an evolutionistic standpoint, and the chicken for creation...That's the way I thought of it anyway...

well if you go creation or evolution, you get to the issue that neither is true, because both are extreme...

mutation, its the source of life, and that is all.

but i will maintain that there were eggs before chickens, because there were animals that laid eggs before chickens ever existed.

as far as chicken eggs, i am sure that the things that became chickens laid eggs, but the evolution of the egg is nothingcompared to the mutation of the lifeform that lays it, and thus the comparison falls apart completely on the level of science.

its kind of like asking "which came first the hamburger or the wrapper.

one is living, one is a product of the digrestive inability of the other.

no contest... but the thing that became the chicken through forcefeeding and domestication and pasturing was most likely already laying eggs when it was chasing down lizards and stuff.
