Devean George shot 37%...Good enough for me...But, before I go ANY further...
Can either one of you tell me the fundamentals and aspects of the triangle offense..? THE TRIANGLE DOES NOT REQUIRE A DOMINANT BIG MAN, and in fact works better without one...Am I the only one that saw the Bulls play..? Good grief man...
LG...I want you to look at this...
http://www.basketball-reference.com/tea ... /1992.html
Point out the many All Stars on that CHAMPIONSHIP Bulls team...And when you're done, I want you to fucking point out the mind numbing 3 point shooter on that team...Count the number of dominant players...The Bulls had MIKE...And, before you run to talk about how Kobe ISN'T Mike like I don't know that shit, read on...
Compare the numbers of Lamar Odom and Scottie Pippen...And, when you done w/that, why don't you compare Mike's best season ('88 Mike was the God) and then compare Kobe's best season (02 - 03) and tell me how many statistical categories Mike is beating Kobe in...
Now...Tell me how fucking crazy I am based on ACTUAL NUMBERS, not some half ass assesment of character and motivation that I have no idea about...
Biggest trade in NBA history

Oh yes...you're right. Kobe Byrant is as good if not better than Michael Jordan.
Lamar Odom KILLS Scottie Pippen in all aspects of the game.
and the Lakers have been roleplayers and shooter on their squad than the Bulls had.
The fact that the Bulls won championships...and this Laker team possibly not making it to the playoffs.....is a nonfactor of course.
Mr. stat. go look at winning percentage...from last year's Lakers....and ummm how about ANY year of the Bulls...

Let's also agree to disagree on this one......even though I still think its ridiculous to purpose that a team that wasn't even close to making the playoffs last year is going to be just like the Bulls the next year....
I wouldn't be mad or sad if they came out and won 70 games next year...I'd love it.....but let's wait and see.

QUOTE(ADN)If the Lakers don't have any injuries, and Kobe vs Phil II is a sleeper, then the Lakers are almost guaranteed a playoff spot Homez...
All Mike needed was Scottie Pippen...Lakers got Kobe and Odom...And contrary to popular belief, the Lakers team does not suck that bad...They embrace the triangle, and they will win...Period...
I wish you read posts a little more carfully, LG...You, for some reason unknown, escalate these topics into things they are not...I make a broad and general statement, and you run to disagree with it, or how it sounds so outlandish...
Cool, for discussion purposes, and dramatic effect...But...I'm not the one...We can agree to disagree on points, but when the initial thing you wanted to dispute (The Lakers making the playoffs) was a mute point to begin with, as I never said that...I never said anything about them being just like Bulls next year...My initial response was that they would be competitive "IF"...
I am certainly glad of "Topic Review"...

But then you run on talking about how close they are to the bulls..
it just seemed too dramatic of a jump. I agree...and hope...that they make the playoffs....but they aren't close to the Chicago Bulls of recent history.

I didn't say they was close to the Bulls either...On paper..? They look about as good as any team I can think of...I am a big believer in systems and coaching...I have seen it happen way too many times...Players will believe in Phil...They know he is the Lord of teh Rings...He has what..? Nine..? He come in...Lay them shits on the table, sell his system, and they will play...
They will win and go far if they do these things:
1. Embrace the system (This means you Kobe)
2. Stay healthy
3. Establish the "Bryant" rules...
4. Play solid...Not even great defense...
My similarities to the Bulls run this way...
This much is certain...Nobody can guard Kobe 1 on 1...We both know that...Immediately that presents problems...In the triangle, they do not need a consistent 3 point shooter, a threat is sufficient...Kobe will get his shots, and all Brian Grant (Solid Player) and that other dudes have to do is make layups...We need 30 from Kobe, 17 from Odom...Odom is a 6'10" SF that can create match up issues...Him and Bryant Grant can both play back to teh basket...Kobe Roaming the perimeter...This is a dangerous team man, str8 up...
They have some depth...They are YOUNG...Run the floor showtime shit Homes...

I love the Lakers.....I just don't think they'll be able to do it.....I hope Phil gets Odom to start playing well....if so...they just might.

The fuck?? How tall are you in order to call someone 6'9'' undersized??
He's good size for a PF...and even better sized for a SF.
It's not that he CAN'T gaurd the SF...he's played on teams as of late where defense is the last concern....Mavs....Hawks...Celtics.
He will excell on the Heat.

I am not impressed with Walker...He shoots too damn much too me...But I'm anxious to see how he does playing on a team where he isn't expected to be the primary focus...But I definitely don't want him standing outside firing threes...
But I must admit, his skills must be respected, and early season I have The Heat as the team to beat...
