Race.
Why is race an excuse or added gesture in every aspect of life?
I'm a white male...and, believe it or not, I feel I have it toughest.
I gotta work twice as hard to get into college and to get a job because I'm a male, and I'm white. With all the damn exceptions for minorities in this country..why do I still gotta hear the same god damn sob story everytime someone doesn't get what they want.
Seriously...Opera is going to host a show in the future about the problems black women have to face.......because she went to a store in France...when they were closed and setting up an exhibit for another rich person who was visiting an hour later.. and they wouldn't just let her in the store.
I mean...that's the type of shit I'm talking about.
She was being ignorant and expecting everything....but then when she's refused service....it's because she's black.
I'm sick of hearing how all the minorities have it so hard in this country, when in reality, they're reeping all the benefits.
So...panel of experts...why does everyone turn to race when theres a problem, but they love getting support and extra points towards their scholarship possiblity because of it.

I'm hip to you now, I know how to handle this thread...You're going to have to explain yourself...Young, white, suburbian male has hard life...Now that's a headline if I ever heard one Homez...But, one thing at a time here...
What benefits are you suggesting minorities are reaping..?
What benefits are you suggesting minorities are reaping..?

I do believe that to some extent the minority race issues are much more of a political issue and have resulted in being highly and unneccessarily advertised. It has resulted that not only in america but most other european developed countries to have a strong support for the minority races.
They provide a platform for the minority but in fact have double standards for the races where they say we want equality and equity they themselves discrimate on color of skin by providing for benefits for being a particular shade of skin color.
Although I don't have anything against providing the minorties with a platform to help them create a better future for them and their race so that the culture isn't lost in the future and I guess that is the more important factor.
Helping one race get better and ahead in life does discriminate against other races, however more importantly it must be noted that the issue is that culture should not be lost and that is what is being preserved as a result of this political action.

You see what I mean..?
ADN/viewtopic.php?sho...w=1&p=3028#3028
These are strong accusations you making dude...You gonna have to do better than that little rant...I know you typed it, in consideration that I'm a minority, and I went to college...
You need to be trying to tell me how I had it good...Affirmative Action is non existent in my life, and every black person I know, which I'm sure by default is more blacks than you know...

look, both of you.
LG - life in america is hard, but there is alot more to be hard in America than in many countries, and one day you will be able to see how much opportunity that there is. I feel ya, though. It is tough growing up when you feel like "its supposed to be advanageous for you, according to the news" and you don't see that advantage doing nothing but distinguishing that you are not available for certain kinds of assistance or allowances because of your race.
ADN - people done bit the fruit and aint ready to swallow the truth:
The opportunity of the white male diminishes as the opportunities once available are given to "diverse" groups, which had not enjoyed these same opportunities.
This really just distinguishes that there is not enough opportunity for ALL.
and when you are one of the "white males" that never had opportunity (or knew you had it) and they takin opportunity away from the lowest ranks of white males (which is your rung of the ladder),.. and that's your crumbs they stealin, you get white males who feel dejected, like LG, here.
They hear "we need to care more about [diverse] people in poverty, and take away from white males barely breakin the surface...so gimme them crumbs, the minorities hungry." but then you got not bread!
the ten richest people in the world are the smallest minority in the world, and the most powerful...
what about the majority?
vertical,

Yeah, but not all races have had it equal in the past...Very doubtful if this were the then and now, we would EVER hear this argument for the other side...
Even more so, I have NEVER pulled the race card...When I can't do something, I never feel its because of my race...I do not feel that I am owed something by ANYBODY...I would be equally, if not more bothered, by a black person claming to have been "held down by the man" or some other bullshit...
You tell me what I've earned in this world is because I'm a minority and getting some imaginary special privledge, above me being smart, dedicated, and focused on what I want to do, and I will definitely spit in your face...I am one generation removed from being the first member in my family to go to a university...
And LG has it bad..? I come from an entire line of people that have been making due with what they had, and never complained...In middle school and high school, I had fucking 2 or 3 pair of pants...My mother washed and ironed my pants every other day so that I wouldn't feel different from other children...I was always clean and well kept...
AND WE WERE FUCKING DIRT POOR...
Yet, I know people that had it worse than me...I FUCKING FELT BLESSED..!!! I would walk into a room and my mother would just be crying, and I didn't know why...She wrote bad checks for school clothes every year....This is not a sob story...I was HAPPY...I didn't know or care that we didn't have alot of money...We lived in a fucking trailer with a man who thought it was cool to chase us out of the house with guns...And I have NEVER complained...I was taught to do what I had to do, and I am doing...
LG, I mean no offense, but you live with your parents are in in high school...What do you really know about having it tough..? Help me understand, cause right now, all I got to say is suck that shit up and never mention it again...
I don't want to hear, or read, about how hard it is to live and "make it" and be successful when we all know there are a TON of people, color not withstanding, that dont' have half the shit we have and take for granted...
People come from NOTHING all the time...If you want something, you stop making excuses and you make that shit happen...There is no written law that says this life has to be easy for anybody...And anything worth having is worth working for...You hustle and you work and you take care of you and yours...That is the bottom line...Fuck the affirmative...Just action...
I will have no part in a discussion of excuse and weakness...

Nah.....My feelings are all what Deepack said.....switched against him.
Helping one race get better
providing the minorties with a platform to help them create a better future for them and their race so that the culture isn't lost in the future and I guess that is the more important factor.
That's what I'm talking about. Not so much that "I have it Hard" because I know I got it easy in life, my problem is why...once people get in this country, it's our duty to make sure they are provided with shit....why can't they do it themselves?
The fact of the matter is....if there was a White College Fund...like the Negro College Fund......someone would call it racist..and unfair
Ty...this ain't no attack on you at all, I feel you're one of the only people I've met who doesn't use race or take advantadge of anything.....it's not about you that I'm speaking.
Just a crude example..........A black person doesn't get a job...then just says "its because I'm black"....but then a month later...that same person is getting the same job....only because they're black.
My problem with affirmative action comes in when lesser quailified people get positions because of their race.
I don't have the website or quote on hand, but I read about Michigan Law School....you gotta take an entry Exam...sorta like the ACT...36 or so point scale....and every minority that applied was instanlyu given 3 extra points....
I read shit like that...then gotta go to school where I hear "Its because I'm black right!!! You RACIST"
and Affirmative Action wasn't really around for you Ty......don't take this personal man.......I'm not refering to you in the least.
