Really!
I guess the main question for discussion is do you believe Lance doped himself or do you believe him?

i am inclined to believe that EVEN if he did dope himself back in 1999, it was to stay alive with a medication that is accepted and prescribed for his usage, and his achievement is a miracle in the sports world on a global level.
like if my cousin, who is prescribed steroids for a muscular deficiency, played in the NFL those steroids only MAYBE put him on par with the smallest of the nfl guys (he weighs 92 at 5'6 without them, and has no muscle mass worth mentioning).
I still say the tour is one of the mose grueling and demanding sports events there is... and anyone who wins it more times than most any other two people combined, is a hero.

a hero?
whens the last time triathletes were considered heros?
biking isn't the only endurance testing sport.
his feats are great....but i think people are taking his story for a ride that it doesnt need to go on.
he really deserves more than 15 minutes...but if we're assuming everyone gets it.....he's on minute 18.

LG,
dun get it twisted... triathletes have to be conditioned amazing athletes, but athletes are not inherently heroes.
A man who comes back from barely qualifying in the most grueling physically excrutiating bike ride in the world... after a life-threatening battle with cancer - to win an unprecedented SIX times, and now SEVEN.
that is a hero.
It†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢s not a bad definition for a man who was told he†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢d never ride a bike again. If he was lucky, he†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢d live. Since that diagnosis, he†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢s not only survived but thrived and won SEVEN times.
So, you might feel he's getting a bit more than his due in the light, but HE BEAT CANCER, AND THE TOUR. at the same time.
give the man a bow, LG. He deserves it, and you know it.
Endurance is not the word:
For his last victory, he traveled 3,608.0km in 86 hours 15 minutes and 02 seconds - an average of (41.654km/h) with TREACHEROUS UPHILLS.
that is will.

No...that is good bike riding. Some people are gifted at some events. If a professional basketball player beat cancer and was MVP the next season....it wouldn't be a big story at all......so why is this one so extriodnary.
I've heard he's taken...not only medical...steriods. Which is very logical to assume.
Let's also consider the competition.....can anyone here name more than 3 other riders?
I think its a great human interest story.....but I'm SO SICK...of seeing him considered the greatest athlete of all time....or that 7 tours in a row is the most unbreakable and unbelievable record ever.
I was as upporter of him...I loved what he was doing......then EVERYONE starting worshipping him as not only a hero but god himself.....and it turned me bitter to the whole accomplishment.
He is probably taking steriods......so the question I now pose.
If it is ever proved that he was taking proformance enhancing steriods during this string....how would your opinion change?

Personally..?
I think that steroids bit is a lot more bullshit than it's cracked out to be...In LA's defense, it is not uncommon to take a steroid...I take one every 3 months, its a HUGE fucking shot that hurts like hell...I do NOT feel stronger, faster, jump higher or get any less tired when I'm walking my ass to the dumpster with the trash...
Having said that...
I can also say I've seen first hand what the cancer can do, it is a mental and physical stress job that can only be matched probably by dying and coming back to life...
I can't ride a bike that fucking far, and definitely not that fast, and to do so after being racked w/cancer..? Shit...The man is a hero/inspiration to any and everyone...
In a world where the crust of human life is more likely to be exposed than a true feel good story, I find it hard to trip on LA, and I it makes me sick to my stomach that they are trying to shit on him...
