2v2 Basketball

Okay, so at the lunch table today, we started purposing some All-Star two-on-two NBA Matchups.....the one where we all started to disagree was the following:

John Stockton and Karl Malone

Vs

Kobe Bryant and Shaq

This is how this thread will go, you pick which one you think would win, with a breakdown of why, then purpose another matchup. You can carry on the winner to your thread and purpose a pair that might beat them, its up to you. The only requirment is that the pair had to have played together on the same team for at least like...3 games (All-Star Games don't count)

Alrighty.....Who ya got?!

Man, that one isn't even a contest I don't think...Who is guarding Shaq, and who is guarding Kobe..? To suggest that either Malone or Stockton could guard either is crazy..! Stockton couldn't hold Kobe on his worst day man...I give this one no contest, but would love to read an argument, providing someone could make one...

That was my exact arguement....I'm the only one in my school it seemed who saw the mismatch between the two.

Stockton and Malone's chemistry is unmatched though..and Malone was a lot quicker in his prime, and would probably run circles around Shaq....but I don't see Kobe being TOUCHED.

The chemistry is unmatched but the skill and size are also unmatched. No one can stop Shaq out of those so Shaq and Kobe would kill.

Shaq and Kobe

vs.

MJ and Scottie Pippen

This, of course was our second purposed matchup after we went undecided on the first...and regardless of Shaq being huge and shit....I'll NEVER vote against MJ.

Again, I don't like him, or rather, I don't think he's all that...But who is gonna stop Shaq..? Pip and MJ, that's a good duo, but if Mike and Kobe cancel out, cause Pip couldn't check Kobe in a phone booth, the matchup is Shaq vs Pip...How can Pip take it to Shaq..?

And mind you, I am thinking of each athlete in their prime, so Rookie Shaq, that was 7 percent body fat and a beast in the paint, Pip is just not going to run circles around...

Shaq and Kobe, 12

MJ and Pippen, 9

I see what you're sayin and all....I'm just never believing, as untrue as it may be, that anyone is gonna beat Mike....ever.

You don't care if that's not...Logical..? For the sake of the debate, there has to be a legitimate reason why you think MJ could take on two all stars, 1 of which I dare say is a spitting image of him..?

Oh damn...

You're creating some good matchups...Um...Damn...Lets see...

How can you vote against Magic and Worthy..? Magic's size, versatility...Worthy's athletic prowness and ability to finish...Bird would rain threes, but would need to be set up...The fact that those cats don't have anyone particularly adept at handling the basketball, I say Magic and Worthy win easy...
