I like LL .. I was going to mention him.. But to me, he is similar to Will Smith in the way he influences.. And motivation..

I was dissapointed when I heard Will Smith's Newest album (Lost and Foung) was ghost written.

And the WU is the shit!

Aesop Rock = Deep metaphors (The Most Metaphorical Emcee Ever?) some that I don't understand and probably don't even notice they are there.

Atmosphere? One of my honorable mentions /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

You can't have a list and not have Run-D.M.C. on it, ya'll fools for trying.

Check it,

Run-D.M.C. are responsible breaking new ground in rap music and making room for merchandisable hip-hop, rap-metal and electronica. "Sucker MC's" (1983) was the first hip hop track that relied on electronic beats and nothing else. Peter Piper (1986) was the first rap record in which the DJ (in this case Jam Master Jay) cut up a record (in this case, "Mardi Gras" by Bob James). Run-D.M.C. became the first rap act with a platinum album!!! much less a multi-platinum album!

In fact, it was riding they coats that NWA got together in the first place, as the song My Adidas was what inspired cube and Dre's first compliation, "My Penis" (which is funny as shit, and worth a thread itself!). they ensured Russel Simmons success, and inspired the whole game.

They also stand in rank as the first rappers to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, to receive a Grammy nomination and to appear on Saturday Night Live and even American Bandstand.

In fact, Rev Run gettin ready to drop another album this year, and i can't wait!

personally, i like LL cool J, as an actor, as well. his music is ok, but he is not a king. he is enjoyable, but not pushin boundaries, not responsible for the progression of hip hop.
