Has anyone seen previews for this movie yet? It looks pretty good. Friday is the release date. It's based on the novel written by Anthony Swofford, and it's about his experience in the Gulf War.

I've been peeping the previews, but I probably won't go see it...Doesn't look that good to me, and I haven't seen a good war movie since Saving Private Ryan...I'm not getting my hopes up, but I will save the majority of my judgement after I read a few respected reviews...

Jarhead, huh?

Go to the gulf,.. I had a boy who was in the gulf so deep he can't sleep without drinking himself unconscious.

I got a man who was a corpman there, and put friends in bags. The gulf is a trip, and no movie will ever compare so
I feel kinda like a Vietnam vet watchin a movie bout vietnam. nah, i already got tha lock.

I wanna see it. It looks really good to me. Plus, there is a Kanye West song on the soundtrack
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard

All the Marines here are looking forwad to it. Supposedly it's pretty accurate on what things are like. Of course there is Hollywood additions, but overall its suppose to be good.

I bought the book tonight. I'm gonna start reading it tomorrow. I read a couple pages in the book store; it seemed like a good book.
