Read this and let's hear your side of the story:

Pat Robertson Warns Pa. Town of Disaster
Nov 11, 02:48 AM EST

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson warned residents of a rural Pennsylvania town Thursday that disaster may strike there because they "voted God out of your city" by ousting school board members who favored teaching intelligent design.

All eight Dover, Pa., school board members up for re-election were defeated Tuesday after trying to introduce "intelligent design" - the belief that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power - as an alternative to the theory of evolution.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club."

Eight families had sued the district, claiming the policy violates the constitutional separation of church and state. The federal trial concluded days before Tuesday's election, but no ruling has been issued.

Later Thursday, Robertson issued a statement saying he was simply trying to point out that "our spiritual actions have consequences."

"God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever," Robertson said. "If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them."

Robertson made headlines this summer when he called on his daily show for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

In October 2003, he suggested that the State Department be blown up with a nuclear device. He has also said that feminism encourages women to "kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

lol, If Pat Robertson condemns you, it's prolly a sign God likes you. God don't give a shit what is taught in a secular institution like public education, which is there to ensure worldly opportunity. You don't go to school for answers, you go for the tools to find the answers. one of the most important is skepticism.

That is funny...I have heard people talk shit about that they dont' believe in God and all that, but when some shit happens, and they think that they about to die, God is all over...Even though I believe in God, I'm not so foolish to think that he works that way...Although, I do believe we get what we deserve.......

Robertson's pissed off because a group of people ain't bying the 'intelligent design" bullshit, voted out the school board members who were dumbass enough to vote that shit into the school system.

That design nonsense needs to stay in church and not in a science class.

i think it is much better to have Pat Robertson a free man. His hyperreligious, radical, zealout-like comments help to alienate people from that kind of ultra-conservative, quasifascist type thinking. For example, if he had not made these statements about Dover, it might not have been as much of a story; now school board members all over the country will be thinking about this if similar issues come up in their district. So my stance is long live Pat Robertson, not because I agree with him, but because I think he does more to support what I believe in than I do.

Don't care what it is. It doesn't belong in public supported schools. Church run schools and private school yes, but If I'm chucking out the tax money for public schools, it's evolution all the way!
