Anybody into Comic Books?

If so, what do you read? Currently I'm reading Lucifer by DC, which is amazing. 7 Soldiers, which is ok. Legion Of Super-Heroes, Preacher, and the current DC mega event, Infinite Crisis. Which brought back SPOILERS!!!

Golden Age Superman. Punched through time and space to get to current DC universe. Great book so far.

I AM SO BEHIND ON MY COMIC READINGS..!!

I remember walking into the local comic book store and buying Spawn #1...When I was in college, I read comics all the time, and had subscriptions to several...The local comic store closed, I got interested in different things, yadda yadda yadda...

I am going to try and find some series to post here on the forums...

Some of the ones that I read when I collected are Kiss: Psycho Circus, Grendel : War Child, Spawn, Superman, shit, tons of titles...I REALLY want to get into those Lucifer comics, I've heard they are really good, that he is powerful as hell, but really is just more cunning than the others...I love the work of Alex Ross, and have bought everything I've seen him do...I've read so many titles, but unfortunately not many I've read on a regular, with the exception of Psycho Circus, and I haven't read that in a couple years...

Cool topic, perhaps someobody can show us where we can get some online...

yeah. some people at the other site knows where. but I usually just buy the trades. You can get the trades for Lucifer. BTW, Lucifer is powerful. Created his own Multiverse with Michale, then invited all the gods, demons, humans, angels to live in it. His most powerful weapon, is his mind. defeated the Japanese Gods with just his wit. Lucifer has plans inside of plans, it's crazy. the art is good as well.

Yeah, that's what heard about the comic, that he is crazy powerful, but just outwits all the other Gods...I love mythology, I would probably get a kick out of it...I'm going to see if I can find #1 right now...

Towards the middle of the series, God or Yahweh explains to both Michael and Lucifer why he created them. Gave me chills. Excellent story. Lucifer was first introduced in the Sandman series though. Created by Neil Gaiman, IIRC. I'll post the quotes if you want! /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" />

As a fan since the mid 70s... Infinite Crisis has brought me nothing but joy and happiness so far... Not only in the return of the Eart-2 Superman but also in the fact that George Perez, Marv Wolfman and Jerry Orday are being recognized for their original Crisis storyline from 1985. Those 3 worked to change the comic industry by storm and now they have a hand in bringing it back to greatness once again.

Kara Zor-El is back!!!
Hal Jordan is Green Lantern again!!!
Kal-L is back!!!
and from today's (Monday's) listing on www.Comicscontinuum.com it looks like we will see the return of Dawnstar and Blok in the Legion!!!
In a way I am glad that DC cancelled John Byrne's version of the Doom Patrol. I hate it when a writer disregards back history just to have his own mind trip. Now maybe someone can go and bring the team back to its former greatness. I would be happy if Grant Morrison returned to the title. With Perez on the art that would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

That being said the Teen Titans is one of the best books I read each and every month. Even Jason Todd is back from the dead.

Thanks,

Tony

Personally, i don't like dead characters returning. Even Jason's. Apparently, there will be a shit load of characters dying in Infinite Crisis. Already a few died in issue 1. 2 was awesome as well. Grant Morrison and Jim Lee will be writing Wild CATS. And also Morrison's and Frank Quitetly will be doing ALL Star Superman. First couple of issues looks good.

I spent a big time of my childhood walking to the comic store around my mother's worlkplace to trade comix mags i changed and read three per day, i read the whole store in two years then it was hard to find some new magz.
I read Flash, Spiderman, Superman, Batman ,...., all the classics supeheroes but also some cool magz from Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, France and Italy plus a lot of humor comic magz also.

Nowadays i check some online editions and from time to time i reach some cool editions but i just read them, don't collect them, cause they are very expensive.

If anyone cares...SPOILERS!! Just in case someone wants to read a part of Lucifer. This is when Lucifer and Michael enter God's mind. I like it.

God

"Ah the pity of it. Do not think I am unmoved, my sons."
I have lived these lives again and again. I have endured these
futile quests and escalating sacrifices. The turmoil that drowns out love and hope.
and meaning. Until the heart stops, and the last breath dies in the last dry throat.
It is a tragedy. All of it. But the paterns persist, too...
Persist and repeat themselves. Infintiy answers infinity.
Like mirrors facing each other. across a narrow hallway.
I have made well. And I made best when I made you.
Now come into the light...Where I can see you both...

Michael Demiurgos--Spark that expands forever. ocean of POWER with no shore.

And Samael--My sweet, savage samael, who brings the light where I have told it to shine.
How I love you, my sons. How I swell with pride with you.
You must not try to speak, or to move.
Speech and action are alike impossible. And there is nothing to say, or do, in any case.

The Ship? (talking about the ship, Lucifers crew to enter the Mansions of the Silence, which is made out of Giants toe nails.)
The Ship has miscarried.
And your daughter, Michael...the only case in creation that could have made you and your brother act in concert.
She hangs in the pavillion of the Lanterns.
Set there to be both worm and hook.
The throwns are cast down. And the dominions humbled.
The keys turn in the hearts of men and angels.

All things stand as I determined in the morning of the worlds.
For you are the king of contriviance and manipulation, my samael.
But in that, as in all things.
You learned from you father. "

Later he explains why he created them both. But I won't get into that.
