No the DC doesn't stand for Washington this time... It stands for two of my favorite things in the whole wide world... The Dallas Cowboys and DC Comics.
I've been a steadfast fan of both since 1976. The year we celebrated our bi-centennial in the US (for our foreign members) and both were by accident.
I was at a friends house one sunday and they were watching football and the Dallas Cowboys were playing. They were playing the Baltimore Colts and won that game... A couple pf months before that though I was in a store and asked my mom to buy me a comic book: Justice League of America #137... At that time the only ones on the cover I recognized were Superman, Batman and Robin... In the time since then I have come to find that this was the beginning of a life-long love with both DC's. I was there for the boys' bad times (1-15) and good times (3 Super Bowls in the 90s). DC Comics has been both good and bad also.
1976 also introduced me to 2 other favorite hobbies of mine... Americana and history & music. The only music I have not enjoyed in the last 30 years is rap from 1990 on up. I have enjoyed triumps (Michael Jackson for Thriller in 1983) and Tragedies (Karen Carpenter's death from Anorexia Nervosa in 1982).
I know this a sports forum and I have digressed. But here it is November 2005 and The Dallas Cowboys are number 1 in there division (they own the tie-breaker with the Giants). Will they go to the BIG DANCE this year? I hope so. If you look at their first half of the schedule you will see that they could easily be 9-0 0r 8-1. The 3 games they lost are by a total of 10 pts.
I'm not saying their the best... (their are teams with better records in the NFC) but they do have a fighting chance to make it.

The Cowboys..? Superbowl bound..? Ionno about that one...A fighting chance, yes, but...The pieces of a Superbowl winner I don't see...But, that's why they play the games, and that's why I'm not a betting man...That's interesting how you explain your attachment to your team, especially since you are PA born and raised...That's interesting, I've never investigated my own sports attachements, but I remember distinctly remember how I got to be a Steelers fan...I was a young boy, and for some reason, there was a Steelers sticker on our vacuum cleaner...I'm like 2 or so...And once I recognized them on TV, I've been a fan ever since...But, I am a Chicago native, and naturally a Bears fan as well...
How ironic...

lol...man...you got shut down. Seriously, how can the Cowboys make the Super Bowl? It's out of the question. They will get knocked in the first round

You guys saw only certain wirds in my post instead of the whole thing... I said I hope they go to the Super Bowl... Not that they were going.
In all actuality if they win at least 3 of their last 6 games it is very well possible that they can make it to the play-offs. But they have to win at least 3 games for sure.
The rest of their schedule is hard as the only teams they play with losing records are: St. Louis and Washington and the Redskins beat us once already. In any event whoever goes from the NFC this year will have their hands full. Indy is on a roll and outside of Pittsburgh, San Diego and Seattle; their schedule should be almost guaranteed. Of course after the game with Baltimore today I'm not sure I want to include Pgh in that group. I just want to have some bronco turkey for Thanksgiving and rest-up for a rematch with the Giants.
Go COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
