OMG..! I jus saw that j-dog gave the latest version of Norton a 10 rating..! What on God's green has happened..? I have hated Norton for a long time, and I'm curious to read more about how you came up with that...
I am using Avast! right now, a deviation from my usual AVG Free...I like Avast! OK, it has some neat features...For firewall, I am using Agnitum Outpost...Now that, my friends, is a potent ass firwall...Manages my home network easily, and even has spyware built into it...I'm waiting for them to do anti virus as well so I can just use that shit exclusively...
What are you guys doing in the way of PC security..?
What Anti-Virus/Firewall Solution are you using..?

I am using Sygate personal edition firewall, and Norton (just because I just bought a new laptop and have free service for 6 months on updates). When that runs out, I'll probably download AntiVir, have used it before and seems to be good. Is Agnitum a freeware, if so where do ya get it?

Myself..? I've got Avast! and no firewall 8)
Seriously, I haven't had an issue with hackers at all, not that I have anything valuable on this machine anyway..
However, Avast! does have some neat internet loophole blockers..
And, as AYHJA said, I also agree that Norton IS shit, never did like it..
But then again, Outpost doesn't seem all that good either..

I'm using AVG for antivirus. I've used if for several years and really like it. Also for a firewall I'm using the one built into XP. I had a bad experience with ZoneAlarm a while back but I might upgrade to a decent firewall before long.

Zonealarm in my own opinion is a piece of absolute CRAP .. I've used it before and it has a SERIOUS memory leak. Even though the people at zone labs don't wanna admit it. When you can see on the task manager, with only the network connection active and no active programs using the net, zonealarm actively eating memory .. and it got to over 100MB btw .. that's when I say enough is enough.

Yeah, I gave up on ZA when they tried to come out with a new version (5?) and that shit sucked so bad they were like, "Um, just use version 4.5...." Had to let it go at that point...The absolute BEST firewall I had was Tiny Personal, but that damn program is a little TOO fucking secure...It would be like, "Do you want Firefox to open..?" Yes..."On this port..?" Yes..."On this port using this protocol too...?" YES..."K...Wait...What about Firefox on this port, when modified by this process (new box pops up) do you want to allow this baby process to start when you start Firefox......" and well, you get the point...
Outpost is similar too, but not as bad...it has component control and code injection protection, but it isn't nearly as vicious...

yeah .. I hate those programs that have to nitpick every damn thing. That's why I'm sticking with Sygate .. it only asks if you want the program to access the net once .. and it don't bother you after that .. lol.
