Yeah, but trash, he still had to look for them...It clearly says that was looking for them, and called out for them...Even if what you said was true, he wouldn't have needed to do that...

Genesis 3:8 is the only reference I can find to this and here's what it says:

"Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?""

So yes, it does seem like the Lord was calling out to them wondering where they were, but it also could be that he was testing them. Seeing if they would come to them after they knew they did something wrong. It's like a dog....when they do something they know is bad, they put their tail between their legs and try to sulk away. They think they can hide from you but in essence you know exactly where he went. When my dog does this, I don't go to him and scold him, I tell him to come to me. It could be the same way with God

And you still don't know why I have a problem with an all powerful, all knowing God essentially playing a game with his creations..?

And it is NOT like a dog...Would you create a dog, knowing full well that it would ultimately disappoint you..? This is what you're saying...That God knows everything, and is all powerful...But yet, feels the need to create things that are lesser than him in everyway, know exactly what they want to do, when and how they're going to do it, but yet kicks backs, waits to say, "I told you so," punishes them, and watches them suffer...He purposely put the tree there, knowing full well that they'd do what they did, and then pretty much give them hell for it...

Think about it trash...If you and your future wife were shown the entire history of your unborn child...And you saw him do all kinds of shit some good, and some bad...And say maybe, eventually do the one thing in the world that you wanted him to not do...And it would eventually take you and your wife to die and suffer antogonizing pain to make up for that...You'd...Still be dead set on having kids..?

So then, God is sadistic..?

And like I said, there is the thing about Angels...If they weren't created by God, they'd have to come from somewhere...Cause the bible definitely acknowledges that they do exist...But not how they were created..I believe in Angels, and I believe they serve God...But I also think that in turn, God recognizes The Lord of the Universe as such...

I can see why it's hard to understand. I struggle with that also. It's tough to believe that there is a God who loves me even when I mess up all the time. Do I deserve it? Not at all. It's tough to believe that, but I do out of faith.

I believe in Angels and that they were created by God but I still don't get your thing about a God and the Lord of the Universe. What's your definition of God and Lord of the Universe?

The belief in God (Whom I call YHWH) having created the angels requires more faith than believing in God itself...

And again, its not the fact that God loves you even though you mess up...Its that God loves you and KNOWS you're going to do what you do...Its not like having a child, knowing that there will be spot rough spots along the way...It's much more different than that...

I believe that The Lord of the Universe is the catalyst that created the Big Bang, and all subsequent matter...It is incapable of being described...It just is...If the big bang is what created and spawned all matter, as I said, beings like us would have to have been created...They are just... > ...I think that this is the primary reason it is specified that God makes man in his image...We are not that different from the Gods that created us...We are just not them...That's why they created us, and that's is how we are allowed to exist, and still be loved...We are their children...And to us, they are God...But the omnipotent, all knowing...I don't know about that...I just don't believe that a being as powerful as that twiddles his thumbs...

Gods are like us...More powerful...Smarter....And probably not as complex as we think...He's just working with a set of different tools...And from another level...Less holy..? Of course not...But certainly not the being you imagine...

QUOTE(Deepak)And Pete ... wasnt Buddha  an actual person who was born in india and developed  philoshpy which turned to religion rather then the idea of a god as Buddha ?

That is actually true. He was a selfish rich spoilt prince or something, then realised that he could never feel happy trying to satisfy his desires- get rid of those desires, and you will achieve enlightenment.

Saying "Buddha is in all of us" is a metaphor.

Hey ayhja....you know when i first asked the question about how multiple gods worked i thought you would come back with ;each god addresses different human needs or... different times and seasons requier you to medetate on different aspects of the gods.Then i would have come back with; cool..very interesting and mabey asked about this or that.Some how it turned into some thing different.
...Your belief seems to be that god is a much greater version of us which is what the romans believed.He has human traits and emotions like we do..A jew or a christion or probobly a muslum (not to familier with there stuff) would say that god is pure love or energy or truth and isn"t effected by all of the things that humans are.A human god would care very little about us but pure love would.My belief is god wanted some one to share that love with so he created us. We then have to connect with him through the spiret part of us which is love and not the phiysical or emotional..I believe some of the main religions ( jews christions muslems) have been given a path to get to him.This path is his word.
...Reading the bible and alowing god to teach you what it means will give a much different understanding than trying to figure it out based on your own knowlede of religion.My brother says it all seems to be in conflect with itself but when i ask him what he thinks certain passages mean his basic assumptions are wrong.All of his past study of relegions have made it impossible not to use those teachings to tell him what the bible is saying instead of the bible itself teaching him the meaning.
...I read up on god walking through the garden.An all powerful god would know what was up.It was crazy for adam and eve to try to hide but thats what people do all the time.They think they can fake god out.The only way god will have a relationship with you is if your honest with him.If your not than he doesn't want any thing to do with you.Thats the basic meaning behind that part of the story.You bring up a good point when you ask why would god put the tree of knowledge into the garden.Mabey he's not interested in our love unless we choose to love him.In order to understand who god is and choose to love him you need brains. .As for the angels and who created them my answer woud be why care?.I think god gives us his teachings on a need to know basis.If its not nessasary to having a good relationship with god than you dont need to know every little detail about it.I don't even think about how heaven is set up.How does that help me here.Just knowing it exists is enough
.
.....Im too tired to get into the rest of this now.This isn't easy when you type with one finger.Also if i came on a little strong in the first post i apoligize for that.That was propbobly the beer talking or lack of sleep or some other lame excuse....See ya!

My problem is that I don't see how God cannot be omnipotent and omniscient. If he is a God, then to me that means he's outside of time. When he is outside of time, then looking down on earth means he sees everything that's happening at the same time. He sees Adam and Eve and the Last Battle at the same time. That is omniscient. Now when he knows all that and can plan accordingly, then that would make him omnipotent. I just can't see how a God cannot have those 2 qualities

I agree. I just dont see the point of limets.Every choose he has made was to get us to were we are.Kicking adam and eve out or knowing judas would do what he did has all been known by him in advance.As far as the universe goes i did a search on google for lawyers and got 221,000,000 matches in 0.12 sec.If were mear shadows to him and can do that i think he can keep track of the universe

At Pete;

Buddha wasnt a spoilt rich brat, he had always felt out of place and when he saw the truth of his fathers (king) way, he decided that he would not be a part of the cruetly being inflicted on most of the people.

Many people do think that Buddha has the status of a god but he was only a philospher.

At tt;

So what you are saying is that god knows all. he knows that we will commit sin. he knew that Eve would be tempted by the forbidden fruit and then would actually devour it and still punished adam and eve for it?

So basically giving us a choice is a mere illusion created by god so that he can play with us? This theory links up to the matrix ...

The thing is TT, that you have conditioned yourself into believing that by definition god is omnipotent and omniscient. It takes a lot to get out of that conditioning and to think things with an open mind.

At highlife;

If he knew that we are going to turn out this way ... then why didnt he just create the world as it right now, and if he knows how the world is going to end, why create the world at all?

If he knows things end, why bother to create it when in time ... to him is nothing .... everything will end anyway?
