let me know how much you love Vista when you try to do something that all the built in DRM bullshit prevents ya from doing. Ripping anything HD or trying to bypass DRM on downloaded material is impossible in VISTA

dude I'm willing to lose everything on this computer...and have to start over....just to downgrade to XP because I hate vista so much.....

my friend who works for a computer company said that it's supposed to be more visually stunning (don't notice it...at all) but slower (uh...most definitely) than XP... he said not a single costumer has raved about it....a few have complained...and a bunch have come back asking how to downgrade..

Granted that's just his little branch of Sears....and you may upgrade and love it.....but I haven't noticed any graphics that are better...and i HATE the slowness. It takes like literally 5 minutes to go from in-game...out of game to check something..to bac k in game....its horrible.

e, I don't plan on ripping anything HD, and I avoid DRM like the plague...I like the Apple formatted HD stuff anyway, so I'm not liable to run into those issues...

Vista is VERY different from XP, its still Windows, but its different...If you have the comp to run it, and the patience to learn it, I'd definitely advise an upgrade...

Like I said, I have few complaints, but I never was a fan of XP...I would have never even switched to XP if there was a way I could have clear type on 2K...But there's nothing on Vista that I have seen thus far to make me switch back to XP...And I'm not saying that I won't, but I'm pretty happy about it right now...

tt, there is a thing that they do where you can rate your PC to run Vista on a scale of 1-5...My PC scores a 4.6 out of 5, with 5 being the absolute most powerful PC's out at the time of testing...I don't know if there is an external link to test your machine, but the recommended score to run it is a 3 I think....

Where can you check your your PC at? Where did you get your PC tested?

There is a test center in Vista... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Check this out tt: http://tinyurl.com/2ommdy

They Calculate the score by taking your lowest score...So the lowest score on my index was 4.6, my avgerage is 4.96...So, no wonder I'm having fun, lol...

That link didn't work for me. It was a blank page. I googled Vista Test Center and I got this link and took this test. Is this test an accurate one for testing my PC?

That link didn't work too well for me TT.

Apparently I failed in the memory, cpu, hdd, and screen resolution department.

Running 2gb ram, 1.66GHz Core2Duo, 160gb hdd, 1440x900.

Not too sure what's up with that. And Ja your link doesn't do squat... haha

Ok came up with the legit Microsoft Upgrade Advisor link...

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/produc ... visor.mspx

Then just go to "download windows vista upgrade advisor".
