Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
Wait, that's something that I didn't know...The 40 GB PS3's can't play PS2 games..? I heard the things you could do if you had a PSP were kinda sick, do you have one..?

Yeah, mine is in 1080i. The USB cable isn't a big issue since one controller lasts a long time. AIMING on COD4 isn't too bad. My sensitivity is set really high because I think it's kinda slow. I think my next game might be one of the old tony hawk games.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
The 40GB PS3's and as far as I know, all the PS3's produced from this point onwards, are lacking the internal electronics required to play PS2 games. So, no backwards compatibility. It says "PS2 games do not perform on this system" clearly on the PS3 box.
I have a PSP somewhere. Will try to find it... Apparently you can get PS1 games for the PSP over the Playstation network. I seriously doubt I'll make use of this feature though.

The only thing I got that was worth getting over the PSN was Puzzle Fighter. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend Mortal Kombat II. That shit sucked. I'm waiting for Little Big Planet though.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
Damn zap, you bummed me out man, lol...No backwards compatibility..? What the fuck is up w/that shit..?!?! That was a huge selling point for the pS2, cause at the time, everyone had a shitload of PS1 games to play...Of course, they all became coasters soon, but the PS3's library is not nearly as good as the PS2's when it first came out...And unlike the PS1, there are some games on the PS2, plenty, that have high replay value...
I was definitely going to get my PS3 next Friday, but I'm seriously having doubts now, even with the promise of GTA4 coming...
Bummed, but glad you told me...Cause had I not known I'd be fucking IRATE when I got home after having spent my $400...

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
Yeah I had the option of getting the 80gb, which I kind of regret now, but I payed the same price for the 60gb. All because it has the actual hardware to play ps2 games. I'm sure with the updates I could still play my ps2 games on the 80gb, but I just wanted to make sure for those old school FInal Fantasy games.
As for the internet, it's not as organized as Xbox Live and you can't go into chat rooms or do anything like that. You have to know the person to add them onto your friends list and from there they have to accept it. There's the occasional movie trailers that you can find online but the only thing worth looking at over the PSN are the game demos. If you buy alot of games that might help you out somewhat.
I downloaded the demo for resistance and that took forever to beat one level. I really like the game but I ended up getting COD4. Whenever I have 60 dollars to kill I think I might get it.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?
Yeah man Sony seems stingy to me, dropping support for PS2 games. It seems you'd have to find someone selling one of the earlier made PS3's that had the "Emotion Engine" chips in them to play PS2 stuff.
I never owned a PS2 so I'm not fussed. Also I didn't have to pay for my PS3 so it's even less of a concern...
Thanks for the info on stuff available over the net. Sounds a bit lame really.

Still haven't "touched" the wii yet. Friend has been trying to get me over to play some bowling. I hear everyone raving about it so I might have to check it out myself...
