OK Ayhja,

Now look closely at the idiocy of what you said about a person "asking for it" because they get picked up for rape... which happens a lot in college towns. ESPECIALLY in California. (no, not me, ever - so I am not taking this personally)

It just seems to me that you saying "if he gets picked up for rape, he must have been doing SOMETHING" is a far cry from the truth, and the only place I have seen that mentality is in actual cops...

That's not what karma is,.. it is not "cosmic payback". Karma is the momentum things gain as they work in conjuction with the laws of the universe called Svettacharia (Sveta-kariya- The Indian Word for Divine Will).

This is called Ratzon by the Jews, and Ra-um (the will of ra /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" />/ ) by the Egyptians. It correlates to the Magus, and the Sphere of Chomah on the Tree of Life.

Don't get me wrong, there is a element of "cosmic payback", but its not called Karma, which was a Vishnivite word for "Vishnu's Reward for doing his will". Blame the Bramans and Rammites of India for mucking up the meaning of this, mainly as a means of controlling the "untouchable" class of people born into the misery of their poor, who are not helped, instead told that they fucked up in a past life when they had money, and now they must learn the lesson of abject poverty.

vertical,
raum

But are you sure this Karma exists?

Or does it just seem to?

Because when Karma doesnt 'work', we never notice..

While I sympathize with the views expressed (that crime should be swiftly and quickly dealt with) such a path leads to giving too much power to the government. Just saying "well he had to have done something" is probably true for us all -- and look how it was used in the Post Reconstruction South.

The basic problem we have is that we can't decide if our criminal justice system is to be used for punishment or reform. Coming up with the half-assed hybrid we have now is worse than either. I would break criminals into three classes - career, reformable and defective. The ones who are career - shoot. The ones who are reformable can not be released until they are literate and have a demonstrable job skill aka boot camp style. In addition, if drug or alcohol abusers, treatments with regular tests - blow it too often and you end up in category 1.

Make sure there is a safety net for those who are honestly trying to find work but can't - workfare if nothing else. Doesn't have to be great, but cover food and shelter.

If they are mentally defective, then for God's sake give them some place safe to live as opposed to having them roam the streets causing problems.

Not gonna happen, but that's what I would like to see. Help the ones we can. Protect society from the ones we can't.

The major part of the trial is trying to figure out future potential. BTW, if we ever got freezing down, we could just slab 'em just in case we made a mistake. Oh yeah - everybody gets a public defender - no private criminal lawyers!

Punishment should fit the crime - eye for an eye

Make parents responsible for their children - parenting (or even better having kids) is a privledge NOT a right

Stop making prisons 5 star hotels - serve shitty food, get rid of TV, conjugal visits AND BRING BACK the CHAIN gang, stop letting inmates make $$$ while working for the prison.

Rapist, Pedophiles, ManBoyLovers, Murderers - should be automatically executed - FUck this stupid 500 appeals shit

Did I say maike jail worse than what the poverty stricken souls in the US Face

Public executions

Get rid of WELFARE

Kick out the Illegals (35% account for Prison population)

Get rid of judges for life (interpret the laws and adhere to them-- stop making shit up - especially 9th Cir Ct out here in the West)
