The American Judicial System

#1

Post by AYHJA »

I think that our judicial system is the worst in the world...I am all but sure that our way to punish criminals is nothing short of a reflection of all the foul shit that has been done in this country that has ultimately helped it become what it is today...

Of course, you can insert the adjective of your choice in that description...

I have been glancing at other govts and crime statistics in other parts of the world, and I'm pretty sure you all know that no place has more crimes that involve guns than the US...Whole countries go years and may see 2 gun deaths...I saw 2 gun deaths at least on an episode of cops...

Criminals are allowed to poplulate jails, eat three hot meals, and if you adjust well enough, your ass can totally have a pretty good life in prison...If I were forced to be homeless, shit, I could committ a crime, and immediately get a roof over my head, something to eat, shit, and even a fresh new outift...

Of all the ways criminals are dealt with in the world...I personally like Singapore's system...Criminals are dealt with swiftly...You get put in a piece of shit jail, sharing a cell w/Nasty Nate, while the biggest asian you've ever seen, Bubba Lee Chang, waits to rip into you with a good old fashion ass whippin'...

And just like that, you're back on the street, feeling like you just got your ass pummelled...If I am not mistaken, up to 12 lashes can render your ass broken permanently...

Back in the day, there was this dude called Michael Faye? who went to Singapore wildin' out...Spray paintin' cars and shit...He got caught, and the Singapore courts wouldn't release his spoiled ass to the U.S. for court...I think he got like 2 or 3 licks w/that rattan cane, and his ass been on the str8n'd arrow ever since...

All these fuckin' misdemeanors n shit...The only people in prison should be rapers, murders, molestors and fuckers like that...You get caught selling drugs...1st offense, 5 licks, and increasing by 2 every time you are convicted...People will get used to being in and out of jail, but I can PROMISE you that cats won't get used to tehbiggest muhfukkah you've ever seen hittin' you in your ass with that stick...

What do you guys think will be an appropriate way to curb crime in our nation and reform what I think is a fucked up system..?

I'd be pretty tough if I was a prison master. In fact a bit mean, malicious, heartless, and cruel. Of course it would be fair.

I reckon that prisoners should serve their sentence by contributing to the community while under the strictest of conditions.

Firstly, they would have no television, snacks etc.

While outside they would have a ball and chain attached to their legs.

Prisoners will not sleep in beds. They shall be clamped to the wall, and overseen by two security guards throughout their sleep period. Therefore the cells shall be very small, with many walls in rows as the "beds".
The guards shall take overlapping shifts so there is no way for prisoners to escape.

Any prison warden found to be molesting, abusing, or attacking any prisoner during their sleep period, shall be punished by being thrown into a pit of loose raged un-cuffed prisoners.

Maximum sercurity prisoners, lifers, shall contribute to the community by generating electricity. They will turn giant turbines to generate power for the prison, and surplus power shall be fed into the electricity grid. Vicious guard dogs will keep them on their toes as they rotate the turbine shafts for 2 hour stretches, and be given a 15 minute break by being allowed to turn the turbine more slowly. The entire shift will run for 8 hours, including a lunch "break". During their off-time they can train in the gym to keep their strength up, then they are sent to be clamped to the wall for sleep.

The only other chores I have come up with, for medium & low security prisoners, is rubbish removal and re-vegetation (tree planting programs)- all to be done on chain gangs.

Oh, also prison cells shall not be deep inside the building. They shall be set high in the air, exposed to the weather, the rain, the wind, the sun. I might have to draw a picture to explain this, as that description is not very clear.

the "glory" of singapore

Post by raum »

I was in Singapore a few years back. Lemme tell you a story.

There was a woman who was a prostitute. She also had a child, somehow keeping this a secret from her pimp. Her pimp found out, and he killed the kid. She lashed out at her pimp with a knife, and killed the man who murdered her child. She confessed. She was hanged, in public.

the reason she was executed and humiliated was to encourage women to remember their "place."

I shant go back to such a barbaric place, as such to cane kids who chew gum and have skateboards, or hang mothers protecting thir children. [-(

Their entire code of society is that people are hateful, weak, evil, forces that MUST be in control by an outside impersonal Governmental regime.

and a decent beer was $7.20!!!
How can you say there is any justice in Singapore?

Now, America has become one of my least favorite criminal systems,..but Pete's warcraft imagination runs a close second.

Lemme get in on this...

We're basing our arguements on the fact that countries should follow our system of what could be called "justice". That's far from the truth.

Americans have got to get it through their flag waving patriotic skulls is if we are to go to another country, we have to abide by THAT COUNTRY'S system of judicial justice, irregardless of whether we think its barbaric or not! Because you are a guest there!

For example, my father was in the navy in the Korean War, told me that the first thing the military tells you do is "never get involved in any horrendous acts you see". When the ship docked in Italy, the first thing he saw was a police officer smack a kid upside the head with a butt end of a rifle.

The reason why was they don't babysit these idiots like we do here. They put your sorry ass in jail and they mean it!

If you don't like the way they treat people, THEN SIMPLY DON'T GO THERE!. End of discussion!

LOL @ Pete...What the hell man, what the hell...

@ RAUM...

Well, not necessarily justice persay, but more of a ZERO crime tolerance...My whole thing is that we put people in jail for selling drugs, when the reality of the issue is that they couldn't sell the drugs if people didn't buy them willingly...If they tie down folk and force tehneedle in their arm, that's one thing...

I think that there be some type of similar punishment to tehcane...You get caught selling weed, you get you some lashes...That ass get caught again, you get lashes plus two...Pretty soon, ain't gone be no more drug sellin'...Petty criminals get dealt with harshly and swiftly...You murder somone, you go to prison w/other murderers where it is survival of the fittest...

If people wish to behave like animals, they should be treated as such...No more parole and shit like that...

I think our justice system is messed. Basically for the reason that they can go to jail and have a better meal, clothes, and place to sleep than before. I don't agree with this, but if someone tried to changed it, there would be so many political bitches up in your face.

The reason our system is how it is goes back to when America was first colonized. They wanted a system that was totally different from that of England's and all of Europe. They didn't want public hangings or jail time for not going to church. They shaped it the way that they thought was good for that time.

Another thing is that we have way too many rights. I know some of you may attack me for this, but it's true. To get a gun you really don't have to do that much. All you do then is rob a store at gunpoint, get a good lawyer, and then go to jail for 13 yrs and get parole.

It's messed up but that's the way it is.

If your really going to clean up the system, get rid of corrupt judges and lessen the powers of prosecuters.

They have found cases in which corrupt officials were sending innocent people, mostly men, to jail just to say to the masses that the case was solved. Then years later, the evidence used was false or wrong, then they just say, "whoops, we're sorry" and pat the person on the ass and send them off.

Years ago, two Los Angeles lawyers looked into 100 rape cases and discovered that either the evidence or corrupt officials they were falsely accused and imprisoned for a offense they never committed.

There was a PBS series that did a program on this and found a man in Louisiana that was imprisoned for 19 years when it was discovered that the evidence used against him proved his innocence. He looked into the camera lens and said "I dare anyone to explain to me why I was locked up for 19 years"?

I think in that case that the judge, prosecuter(s) and the witness should be tried for perjury and their estates should pay the innocent person $100,000 dollars a piece.

All great points...

But, I was asking for opinions on how to reform and repair the system...In cases where people are wrongly accused, a caning would warrant a nice fat, I'm sorry...

In the case about the man wrongly accused of rape, it is very unfortunate, but you don't just get picked up and accused for rape, and not have put yoruself in a position to be selected...I'm not trying to justify it, cause that's VERY fucked up, but at the same time, you have to ask, "Was he COMPLETELY innocent...?" He did some shit, might not have raped her, but the Karma monster comes for us all...
