Ayhjja,
I thought it was pretty clear. He summarized his disgust that if someone who has gotten acclaim puts something out that is garbage, it is warranted on its merit of depth, regardless of how unsightly the finished product. I see that happen alot.
I didn't know this was an established band, but I looked them up, and i am not impressed. The sound quality was trash, the production was not quite elementary, more like special education. an i was attacked by like like five viruses when i was looking for lyrics. in my opinion, not friggin worth it.
not for a rhyme structure that says " girl yo give me hope, if you get wit me, that'd be dope"
and as far as dope, too many fucking references for my taste.
they might have some good shit, man, but i ain't heard it.

Yeah, I got that...But I don't see what that had to do with the lyrics that were posted, I thought that is was a neat batch of verse...Which is why I was asking what the ranting was about...
And beyond that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

LG always thinks that unkown people write better than the others at the mainstream highway.
It's a valid consolation for lack of success and gives you a valid fake sensation that you are a rebel.

.....hmm, no fapper...you've no place in the VU, leave.
My rant had to do with the lyrics....maybe the artist wrote them...to mean she has tattoos. Not everything simplistic and blunt has a backup, sophisicated meaning behind it.

um, he personified her tattoos, and she deified them before he did so.
and the hook reflects the duality, which evidentally scares him.
I seriously doubt he alliterated in that manner just to point to the fact she has tattoos, which he says in a single line.
he tries to establish meaning and conceals it within his boasting.
i personally think the lyrics need work, still.

I can't understand how someone writes a verse, true to their own convictions and it need work...I just can't get into the critique of something obviously personal, or what have you...It is safe to say that some things cannot be put in to words...You either like it for what it is, or you don't...Any attempt to change the work makes it something that originally intended...
@ L.G.
While what you say is true to an extent, it makes no sense to me...Real life suggests that even in the simplistic things, there is a meaning...Much can be said from a picture or an expression, and almost always is...If you make a statement in a post, and my first reply to the thread is a simple:
:dots:
That by itself means nothing, but you would derive plenty of things from it...People say things, and mean something totally different all the time...
Even a simple process as typing this post...I realize the millions of things that must go on for it to take place...Life is like that...It may seem simple, but there is always something complex and minute within...

1. he is a paid entertainer, unlikely this is true to his own convictions...but likely there actually is a girl with tatooed hands.
2. It needs work because it is unrefined, and loses itself in this way that marks it as either incomplete or just plain bad.
that being said, most people don't even listen to lyrics, anyways... so it really don't mattrer what the hell he say.

You wanna talk about where hip-hop and lyrical value is going? Let me point out that on the popular radio, we are so hungry for good beats and flows.....we even feature songs now that are in spanish..."reaggeton"
Are you serious? We love beats and flow so much that we don't even care if we can't understand the words...or the words are even in another fucking language?!?!
It's riduclous.

Like it or love it, we are a multicultural society LG...So, you just better brush up on your Espanol or prepare to be frustrated...
But better yet, 95% of rappers, and that's being generous, aren't talking about shit anyway...And they never have...I grew up with my dad listening to Kurtis Blow, that was the first album that I saw with an explicit sticker...Heh, you should hear THAT rapping, you'd loose your mind...But, that was its origin, or rather I'd say the origins of hip hop...Rap is something much older...Only right that ashes to ashes apply to rap as well...
With luck and an ear to the underground, you'll find yourself a rapper who isn't saying shit, but does it so cleverly that you don't really care...On paper, some of Jay-Z's flow isn't that vicious...So, its not as much as what you're saying, as it is how you're saying it...
Rap is an art, and no two works are alike...This, believe it or not, is a good thing...So, lets not get to far into that whole "lyrical value" discussion...The tightest fucking lyrics in the world would not make me listen to a CD of acapellas...I like my beats, I like flow, I enjoy a tight lyricist as much as I enjoy a vocalist...Who wants to walk around in a suit and tie all the time..? Sometimes, you just want to kick back and relax...Music is a reflection of that...Better to celebrate the art for what it means to you, than to offer to critique it...
