I agree with you both A and CI, lung cancer killed my grandfather also. I want to quit so bad not just for my sake but my son's sake also. Once you are hooked it is very hard though. The only person who can make me stop is myself. Thanks for the post, it is something to think about. Later

I'm a non-smoker and I don't mind as long as it's not in my face. The moment it's in my face I usually hunt the smoker down and beat the crap out of them. Not really but I think about it a second before I look at the person and see he's twice my size...or it's an old lady and I don't beat up old ladies.

You should try it some time. Start with the ones in wheelchairs or using walkers until you get the hang of it though, they can be pretty good scrappers.

No way, those are the ones that carry canes and crap. They practice swinging those things all the time just for people like me.

I think the anti smoking laws are too harsh. It turns smokers into criminals......

If you think about the air then why not ban all cars, planes and trucks..... Those generate more fumes then cigarette smoke.

If we are at it why not ban all the industrial plants as well. They produce a lot of dirty air as well.

just my 2 cents....

Thats a big thing here now. We are one of the top tobbacco producing states in the country and a few of the larger cities here are starting to ban smoking in public places. I think places like bars, clubs and resteraunts it should be up to the owners to decide. I used to smoke up until a few months ago until it started to bothering my allergies.

I quit smoking a while ago. I don't mind people smoking next to me but I think it is good to have designated areas. There is a considerable difference between someone smoking next to you or someone smoking at a distance (regardless of protective barriers).

QUOTE(AYHJA)In many of the places you go, there are designated smoking and no smoking spots...That always made me laugh, cause I didn't see a protective barrier/fan that would prevent the person smoking 4 feet away from me from smelling the 2nd hand...I think that it should, except maybe in certain places, or designated smoke havens...But that's because I dont' smoke no more...LoL...

Your thoughts..?

Why should everyone else have to passively smoke just because one person wants to smoke in a public place?

Having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a peeing section in a pool (not my own quote).

Although they indirectly are detrimental to life, they do SUPPORT life.

Smoking on the otherhand DOES NOT support life, at all.
