LMAO.. never would I say that man but yeah I remember those days. I was new to the whole forum thing. I used to write it out as though I was chatting with someone and after being pointed out, I changed my ways. I have learnt ALOT from this place man. Thats one of the main reasons I'm around here. I get to learn so much out of this place which has helped me in more ways then one.

I have seen this place grow, as I bet you have too man. Wouldnt trade this place for the world...

ARGH! It's 'Notepad'!
(see, I'm being very careful not to be gramatically incorrect - spelling doesn't count, right?)

QUOTEA:
If I could post every sentence you've ever written that ends in an ellipse, I would.

Well, since this is a grammar thread, and since I need to post something on this forum once in awhile, here goes:

The punctuation figure you refer to is not an ellipse, it's technically called "ellipsis points" and is always three periods " ... " separated from words on either side by a single space. Ellipsis points, which are commonly called simply "ellipsis," are used to indicate the absence of words that would make a phrase a complete sentence, or an abrupt change of thought, lapse of time, or incomplete statement.

More formally, the ommision of words necessary to complete a grammatically correct sentence, but not necessary to connote the meaning of the sentence, is called an ellipsis. For example, writing "Please reply, if possible." instead of "Please reply, if it is possible. " is an ellipsis in the truest grammatical sense. It comes from the Greek "elleipsis" which literally means "defect."

Okay, I'm back!
