Before we go further, can you please elaborate on there being an attribution of different achievements to certain dynasties..? I was aware of that, but not that it was/is thought some dynasties did or didn't do most of the great things we associate w/Egypt...
Are we talking about different Pharoahs, or periods of thousands of years all together..?

in many cases, we are talking about different kingdoms, ADN with no relation except the pharoah.

case study: The Great Pyramids.
Everyone knows about the Egyptian pyramids are the single most important fact of their technology.
or are they?
Imhotep created the first "pyramid" by piling burial mounds (ma'staba) on top of each other. He was architect for King Djoser. This was 2780 BC.
A thousand years later -
Snefru made the first smooth faced pyramid for his father. This is the first of Giza. This was 2680 BC.
Almost 200 years later -
The rest of the Pyramids in the Valley of Kings come in the 5th dynasty. This 300 year period begins in 2498 BC, and lasts till 2180 BC.
People say 'we" can't figure out where they came from,.. but to be honest we haven't tried for 2,500 years. Most of the current attempts are close, and are not even 100 years old.
this specific enough?

I remember reading, or hearing, or seeing some discussions about the pyramids and what makes them so great...
The size and weight of the blocks alone make it seem impossible that they were built using traditional man power...
Also, it is said, though I haven't actually researched its accuracy, that the pyramids align with the stars in the Orion nebula...The mathmatical accuracy to wihich they were desgined, seemed to be amazing...Many of their monuments and artwork seem amazing...Many of those phallic symbols, if not all were well over a hundred tons, and were built and erected in one piece...
Also I am drawing on the knowledge that the pyramids were not burial tombs, as orginially taught...

Pyramids aren't burial tombs??? Explain.... I always knew them to be that and only that.
Man this is the 100th thread where Raum has come in and backed me up with facts.....We have the same views on a lot of matters...either that or he's just willing to try and understand my POV. Either way, I'll try to not just make brash statements from now on.

but see, that is not the case,..
The statements about the workmanship and the methods of construction were passed on to Heroditus, author of the Histories.
it proves nothing but his book is questionable.
being that he says ethiopians have one eye and a gaping maw in their stomach, we can already figure out his book (compiled during short stays and talks with local guides) is not reliable.
the pyramids were resting places and treasure houses... one in the same.
but the level of mysticism that is placed on the pyramids is reserved for few other projects.
beware what "claims" you read about the pyramids, especially about Stars...
people love to talk bout stuff they don't know.

@ LG
That is EXACTLY what I'm saying...And I am glad you said that...Cause that is all that is...raum can relate to many people, on many levels, I can't always do that...You got to lay shit down for me, I react wildly to general statements presented to me as fact...I ask the five w's and the h more than my kid...Give me the goods, and let me examine your POV...Told you about giving me half the scoop up front, damn you...I swear I think you do that on purpose just to pull my panties up my ass... :?
Welcome to VU, btw...
@ RAUM
The workmanship and the construction is what is most fascinating to me, I know little to any the exact purpose or contents of the pyramids were...I just know they weren't just tombs...They have unearthed some great things there, and nary of them have anything to do with being a big fancy funeral home...
Lets talk more about the construction...I'll see if I can find some specifics, but I am almost positive the have credited the construction of the Pyramids to something else...I'll see if I can get it together...

see, ADN.
in my perspective your statements are as broad as LG's.
which pyramid are you talking about. Very few (if any) people worked more than one. So, WHOSE construction are you admiring?
You can't just say specifically "american bridges" - few are built by the same person, or at the same time.
always my point. be specific. be flexible.
TAO. NEO.
