Hasin, I agree that the nature of the questions [sp] posed were heated. LA times is a pretty "flashy and edgy paper for editorials." It reflects their own edge,.. charged and light in contxt.
Compare, however, to my questions. They challenge the promoted origins of the Quran and the Muslims,.. and yet they are bulletproof. you may not want to her it, or read it, but you can not blow holes through it,.. unless you skrew with it, or pretend you don't understand what I wrote (like "this is no where in the Quran,.. so you must not have read it. wrong game to play with me, ask anyone here.) in the more than two years I have had this forum i have taken it to the university everytime someone called bullshit on me,.. which i think was maybe three times, all of which were the same person who now sees my sincere study has at least made me consistent!
You wanna give a view of substance, I would love to hear it, and please be prepared to provide sources. I always have them,. but being that it makes my five paragraphs and makes them about twenty,.. I tend to omit them until asked. This is my workday chatter, and most people can't follow it. what if I put forth some of my articles I have published, or some of my essays?
You might take offense to my comments,.. I don't really care. Another thing people know is that I absolutely stand behind the conviction that someone who TRULY knows God and has a glimmer of the universal Truth knows better than to cater to other people's insecurities, even about religion. but coming in here with a half cocked reactionary tone of "i know you are but what am i" will just get you wiped out the annuls. people come here for content, not contention.
we have the flame thread for that  and i am no stranger there, either...
BTW: for all our sakes don't do the pissing match between one book and another. that game is old and asanine. rather if you must compare, for purposes of similarity or to show revolutions in philosophy.
Islam, we have a question:

raum, dont address me anymore, you 'win' okay?
ayhja, you lose you're temper at ieX yes, i was really cool with these type of topics, you barely saw me leave the "IT" scene. But you have no idea what its like to be a Muslim and a Christian country with people questioning your very own religion. Callin it Barbaric, "Terrorist's Religion", Devil's religion and so on. I was running for my bus, and a police stopped and questioned me. Im a 17 year old college student running to the bus because I was late for my exams, and because of my appearance, i was a terrorist suspect. Its not easy being a muslim believe me, all these people who say "im not anti-muslim" are all liars. even in my school theres racism (towards religion, not my country). They see my last name Hussain, and somehow im a different person. I have to show my damn ID to the bus driver or pay full price, while every other white student just hops on with their concession card. For all I know, if i kept on running for my bus the other day, I probably would've been shot according to the new Shoot to Kill policy, which should be called "Shoot muslims" policy really. Anyway, those are just some reasons for me not being able to tolerate it anymore. Im fine with the terrorist calls and all that, yknow, its all a laugh, but insulting my religion just does that bit extra and ticks me off like nothing else. I grabbed a friend of mine by the collar because he said something about Prophet Muhammad. No, im not an extremist, usually i would be able to take jokes that make fun of me and islam in good humor but in the last 12 months, its just not funny anymore. So i snapped at basically anyone that offends Islam. but, im just gonna ignore it now. Vista CTP is gonna be up on connect anytime soon and it should keep my occupied. I hope you find you're answers raum, may god have mercy on you're soul on Judgement day.

hasin,
i am sorry you feel persecuted, and that sucks dick. You come to the wrong place if you don't want to hear from me.
I don't want to "WIN." This is not about winning. This is about LEARNING and ASCENDING. I want to DISCOVER people who actually ask the same questions or calibur of question as me, and compare answers... and this is where I do it. However, those who turly studyu are few and far between, and tend to "pwn" discussions about these things.
but telling me God have mercy on your soul because I study religions? I have said nothing insulting, and have not once challeneged anything but the HUMAN input into your religion. It is for the same reason of flawed HUMAN input, that all religions are but images of a truth you can only see when you line the up and see the underlying thread. You people argue over semantics, and you have never studied the roots of language,.. and usually can't see you all say the same thing. What kind of heresy is that. It's like a Christian who only believes that the name of Jesus is messiach - who doesn't realize if he called the man "Jee-zus", the man would not even know he was talking to him. I asked QUESTIONS, and look around, they are no different that any questions i have posited about other topics. and these are all questions that I genuinely have had for years/ I read enycolopedias as a kid. These are not new, nor is my studies, which have developed over 20 years.
If god should have mercy for anyone it would certainly not be the maniacs and tyrants of the world who usurp a religion or society that once had a noble past... and strong alliances. The nobility of your religion used to be that secular scholarship was well recieved. I really don't see that anymore, and I have NEVER attacked the religion. I have questioned its origins, and think I have a good case. So do a few professors, and in fact some of them Muslim. My debate does not question your religion, it questions the influences of your religious text, and the origins of those influences. If you study computer science you must certainly know the critical nature of a syntax error, or a improper scripting.

I didn't loose my temper at ieX...That is childs play...A man says he didn't read my post, and then proceeds to start asking questions, many that were answered in the post...I can't respond seriously to that...And that man was a moderator...So.....
And...
Um...I am a black man living in the most racist state in the free world...How much of what you said you think I don't know nothing about..? You can't be insulted if you realize you are educated...When you don't display the ability to defend your beliefs without being emotional, that's what happens...I know you're not using your age as an excuse, so I will not either...
You should hang around here more...

QUOTECallin it Barbaric, \"Terrorist's Religion\", Devil's religion and so on.
Never did this, never going to. not arguing that simple view. I will argue that the roots of fighting are deep in the middle east, and they have some pretty bloody periods,.. but never would I seek to damn them to the responses of the hatred I have seen for Islam in some idiots.
QUOTEI was running for my bus, and a police stopped and questioned me. Im a 17 year old college student running to the bus because I was late for my exams, and because of my appearance, i was a terrorist suspect.
That sucks dude, I was suspected of terrorist actions before, not cool. I had a friend in Washington State with the last name Bin Laden,.. Great guy, with a knack for pissing people off. Met him through another friend when I was in the Navy. Talk about screwed up - me, in Dubai, celebrating Ramadan as a particpant observer, and sending mail to a guy named Bin Laden while the Al Qaeda was first threatening the U.S. in 1995! For the record, I was there to save the environment from the inside. I never raised a gun at an Arab, or Muslim, though I built youth shelters... I never threatened them or anyone else except for training for that matter. My job was to monitor hazardous material and munitions. I took this post in the navy to make a positive impact on the environment - because if you want something done, best to go in and do it yourself, instead of join greenpeace and whine. I got out *barely* exscaping prison because I am SOOO not fit to conform to any kind of \"swallow and follow\" authority, and refused to even take college money for it, (because I am no mercenary.) And for the record I do not support the Iraq war, but neither do I support the Iraqii treatment of the Kurds or Kuwait. For me, politically, the strifes of the middle east do not clearly have good guys and bad guys.
And I admit the US is waging terror as they claim to fight it. The sensationalism is humiliating, as they \"mistakenly\" kill (at least) three diriving home from a funeral. The wars that begat wars are for me a thing of study,.. as there is no end in death. But the lack of respect in killing and sabatogue makes no sense.
QUOTEIts not easy being a Muslim believe me, all these people who say \"im not anti-muslim\" are all liars.
I don't hate your religion... or your people, or your country. i find them fascinating, and beautiful, as a whole. The rich culture is amazing, and a true jewel in the annuls of humanity. It's one of the reasons I study them so much.
What I lack the ability to abide by is blind religious authority of any faith, dubious facts deluding thousands regardless of religion or creed. For me, the answers to this strife are as easy to see as how to resolve them.
It is to that end that I seek to end the tensions by working to lessen oil dependency while regulating Middle Eastern resources within the energy industry, but I know this did not begin with oil, nor will it end when the oil is no longer a factor.
It seems to me that all you religions have been allies and enemies for far too long. It would better for you all to recognize you are cousins, and venerate your common Grandfather - in his name Allah.
Don't get shot man,..

that man would be me.
I did read your post. I speed-read it and asked questions which were and still are not answered but one: "did you write it?". You indeed answered that. To my defence I can only say I could not know what or who "raum" was - I thought of "room", the Dutch word "ruimte", the German word "Raum" (meaning "Space"), of "realm" and all, not of a person, hence my question "who wrote it?". My mother tongue is Dutch; there sure are English words I am not familiar with.
Also, I am not a mod, i am crew over at ieX.
But anyway. Who cares now? I am beyond this discussion now and will not hold grudges against you; hope you are and will not hold as well. Peace!

Oy,
I would like to clear this up in public, and announce my shame...I have clearly misjudged this man...I got frisky in that thread because someone rolled up and judged me, and I turned right around and did the same thing...When you have a perspective as rigid as I sometimes do, it is very easy to forget others have their own...Lesson learned, completely my bad, and welcome to AF friend...I have just finished reading your other post, and I definitely hope that you will drop in from time to time...Now that I know better, I can read your comments in an apt state of mind...
Oh my, I have officially trolled this thread... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
