Well, smoking does seem to relieve stress...Shit, some people would be complete wrecks without siggs, probably committing all kinds of crazy ass crimes, LoL...

Seriously, I don't think that is anything to laugh about, let alone laugh out loud about........

You can reduce stress may other ways, without resorting to affecting your (and other people's) health........

The main place I smoke is in the car trying to avoid pulling my pistol out and eliminating some dumbass drivers. Since the smoking only affects me and keeps me from comminting what some might consider a crime (but others merely garbage cleanup), what's the harm?

its already banned in Canada, or at least i think it is, but i voted yes because my lungs can not handle cigarette smoke and every time i take in some second hand smoke i feel a very strong pain in my chest

That is because "second-hand" smoke is actually alot stronger than "1st-hand" smoke. Passive smoking is alot worse than just smoking- the reason why smoking IS banned in public places.

In Australia, it is now illegal to smoke within 4 metres of a doorway in a public building (eg. office, school, university, etc.). Also it's banned between the safe swimming zones (marked by flags) on beaches, all public transport, and in a 1/3 of floor space in pubs and nightclubs.

Why not instead, that smokers just get those Turkish hashish pipes and suck all the smoke down rather than exhale? Would prevent the whole passive smoking thing.

Yeah, smokers inhale through the filter but we non-smokers get the unfiltered smoke that comes off of the cigarettes. Ugh!

Personally i don't care too much if it should be banned or not, I don't smoke (i'm a passive smoker, those who just smell the smoke of cigarrete) but it doesn't bother to me the cigarrete smoke either because i get used to it, and at that age i can say that i will never do it because it doesn't call my attention and because i'll never pay for something that kills me. We all know that the cigarrete kills, but in my opinion stop smoking must come from a personal decition. Anyone can smoke whatever and all the time he/she wants, but don't cry later because you got Cancer. we all are warned about it.

In the State of Washington, it's now illegal to smoke within 25 feet of any doorway, window or vent of any business or public building. That means that technically, it's illegal to walk down the street while smoking, lest you pass a door, window or vent.

Interestingly, the new law has led to a new problem. In downtown Seattle, the amount of cigarette butts discarded on the sidewalks and streets has as much as tripled. The legislature failed to realize that all those ashtrays in restaurants, bars, in front of stores, etc. were going to be taken away, leaving the average smoker with nowhere to drop their butt, even if they are observing the law. Yeah, smokers should put out their butts and then carry them to the nearest waste receptacle, but should, as they say, never does.

Personally I don't have a problem with the law, except that legislation like this tends to open the door to further restrictions on personal freedom, sort of like the Patriot Act. After you've passed a few "for the greater good" laws, it gets a lot easier to expand them.
