I totally expect Inglorious to crack my 10. I've heard Tarantino doubled his efforts after the shit reception to Death Proof.
EDIT: Yup, It cracked it!

Cold Souls
The Hurt Locker
(500) Days Of Summer
Zack & Miri Make A Porno

Ya know I really can't think of anything I really liked last year. I think the movie that stuck with me the most was the Terminator movie which basically 99.9% of the rest of the world hated but I dug it. I love killer robots and Moon Bloodgood I guess. I thought my biggest disappointment was the Star Trek movie. It was ok but kinda too fluffy.

Yeah well to best I didn't have to think too hard to come up with a top ten. 2009 was a rather lackluster year in terms of giving us a lot of cinematic zing. I hope 2010 will be kinder..

500 Days of Summer was good. Inglorious Basterds was still probably my favorite movie of this past year though.
I hated that D9 had such human looking robots/aliens, but liked the concept otherwise.
But yeah...not really the best year for movies.

I think D9 accomplished a lot for it's pissant budget.

Hey Jig you didn't like Inglorious Basterds or you did? I just saw it the other night and was pretty surprised I liked it as much as I did. I figured with Tatentino being involved it would just be pure revenge violence with little historical sense. And even thought the end was a what if kind of thing the scene in the bar made the film for me. And that Jew Hunter guy was amazingly evil. Reminded me of Raph Fienes work in Schindler's List.

Oh, I did dig Basterds muchly. ^It's on my list up there. I've watched it about 3 times now & it gets better with each successive viewing.I agree that it was very unTarantino-like (& am glad it was) & on the Ray Fiennes comparison.
